Columbia's reading week starts next week.
...then 6 finals.
I'm screwed.
BTW, Elliott Smith's Bled White was one of my favorite songs back in highschool.

Ahh, that song that makes me back. Wow, that was like before Ben Affleck lost his flashing lights to J-Lo and snogged up with Kimmel. What HAPPENED to him?!?
Sobering to see Cat and Sufjan kinda come up and meet some success, knowing he's not here.

LOL, I think I'm in the same boat as everyone, have law exams soon! Aaarrgggh!
But my friend is making me a Thai green curry this weekend so my life isn't all bad.
Also, love Elliott Smith too...His cover of 'Because' is one of my favourite songs. Lovely.
Have a good rest of the week everyone! And remember, what doesn't kill you, can only make you stronger...Haha.

today, we're going to have some 'karaoke session'. It'd been a while for me not to sing my heart out..lol.
After that we're going to catch 'Iron Man'. Some other friends had seen it already, and gave good review, so...i'm really looking forward it.
On drama's side, I'm struggling to finish 'New Heart'. And just started to watch 1st epi of The Last Scandal--interesting, like you said,Javabeans.

It's Golden Week here and I've got 5 (count them - 5!!!) days off in a row! Oh, I LOVE Golden Week. April is the toughest month for teachers in Japan (first month of the new school year) and by the time Golden Week shows up most of us are complete basket cases. Plan to just be LAAAAZY. (Go anywhere?! Are you kidding? The news this morning reported over-crowded trains and 50 kilo traffic jams. No thanks!)
Wishing success to all those writing reports and taking exams. May all your studying pay off big time!

This week was so hectic...it's like all the professor's get together at some secret meeting and are like okay two weeks left of the school year lets torture them to the max.
I had a test, paper, and today a case competition....so much homework to do before Monday...but I am taking a break for the rest of the day.
Has anyone read The Alchemist?

@Dele -- The Brazilian novel? Literatura Ultraisma esta el mejor! (ahhhh, did I ever mention that I took the AP Spanish exam twice . . . )
@gossip -- If you're interested in this season's J-drama, definitely recommend Last Friends. It's stunning and sometimes shocking. I'm a Prisoner of Love!!!

i guess i'm the only one around here who is just STARTING school rather than doing finals and all that...?? winter semester just ended for us and spring term is starting. i learned that trying to get your brain to work and catch up after 4 months of letting it completely rot is quite difficult...i just started the nursing program and so my plans for this weekend include doing my vital signs assignment and forcing lots of ppl to let me take their blood pressure on them :P fun stuff. i would have to say that's 1000000x better than studying for a million finals and writing huge papers huh? well lucky me...

In the same boat as many of you.
FINALS are coming! I have a major lab report due monday that I want to do really good in. I'm graduating soon. So excited and at the same time sad that I have to leave my undergrad.
I keep thinking of all the good times I have had. I can't believe WAY ended and that I have to leave my school. So many sad things....
On the bright side, I get to go to med school in fall. hahaha
For the weekend, I will mix in writing for the lab report and watching kdrama. lol

javabeans speaks the truth! If you want me to pull an all-nighter, PAY ME!!!
But seriously, once you start earning substantial money for your work, it's hard to go back to the student life. (The first 2 years out of university is a lot of fun. Hiccup! ;) ) Also if you have 1st generation Asian parents, your relationship with them may vastly improve too.
@dele,
Yup, that's the one. I haven't read it, but some friends have mine liked it. If you like surrealist fairy tales with a spiritual message, it's perfect.

besides javabeans.. belleza seems like the only literary type i can relate to.. *sigh* it's like i'm living my undergrad days all over again..
well.. better prepare to resurrect myself from the dead and crawl on over to class on monday.. fuller seminary.. why must you betray me?

Good luck to everyone in school! School is bad but work is just as bad. I was up writing a grant narrative and only got three hours sleep this week. Feels just like school. Maybe if I didn't work at a college I could get away from school once and for all but being a teacher ect you never get away. School for life!
And you know it is bad when all you are excited about is getting back in bed and that you don't have to wake up in the morning. And watching "Who are You"... kind of sad but it could be worse :)

Three Bears Dance-off, of course. Loser gets dropped off in the middle of China!! :D
@marcel,
My high school years were a lot like that. I don't know that it was about being from Korea, (VERY) Catholic, and hopelessly in love with Morrissey/James Iha, but it just made my friends highly creative. I recommend! :D
(And yes, I cried through the Love Letter . . . Nobody will break your heart like a man of the cloth! )

Anyway, today is Saturday so I have to work. There's also the World Pyro Olympics but I can't go because there's too much traffic in the area. T_T I'll just finish watching some dramas.
Tomorrow Sunday, go to Church then lunch with my family. Hopefully it's Chinese food. Yum! yum!

@marcel: I will try and use my psychic abilities and send a piece to you! LOL. Hope you feel better.
@dele: 'The Alchemist,' is a good book if you look for meaning beyond what's written, if you know what I mean. It's one of those books when you finish it, you feel like you haven't really read anything but then when you think about it, you find that you did really enjoy it but not sure why. Personally, I didn't find it inspiring but the message is definitely uplifting. Read it and see. :-D
