Sohn Ho-joon’s magic comedy in The Light in Your Eyes

Four short character teasers for The Light in Your Eyes have been released. This fantasy romance drama is about an ever-optimistic woman who can turn back time. It’s a dual role played by Han Ji-min (Familiar Wife) and Kim Hye-ja (Dear My Friends). The character is an aspiring news announcer who loves fighting on the side of justice. Despite her special ability, she often gets caught up fixing the tangled web of the past.

Nam Joo-hyuk (Bride of the Water God 2017) stars as the male lead, who is described as a man who throws his brilliant moments away and instead lives a lethargic lifestyle. He’s also an aspiring reporter, but one who has the appearance and the qualifications for the job. So I wonder what goes wrong…

But after seeing the teasers, Sohn Ho-joon’s (My Secret Terrius) character is the one I’m looking forward to the most. Starting off with this intense look of concentration, his expression changes so comically when he actually succeeds in blowing out the candle with his “mind.” He’ll be playing Han Ji-min/Kim Hye-ja’s older brother in this drama, who has no skills, no knowledge, nor any special hidden cards up his sleeve. He’s the ultimate unemployed bum.

Directed by Kim Seok-yoon (I Live in Cheongdam-dong) and written by co-writers Lee Nam-kyu (This Week My Wife Will Have an Affair) and Kim Soo-jin (Mad Dog), JTBC’s Monday-Tuesday The Light in Your Eyes will air starting next February.

an ever-optimistic woman who can turn back time

Makes sense. If you can turn back time... what better grounds for optimism is there than unlimited do-overs until you get it right :)

It would be almost as good as the ability to go back and correct typos in your posts.

I haven't read it yet, I'm just glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks Son Ho-joon is the most noteworthy thing here! 😂👏👏👏

It's an unfair world where Sohn Ho Joon has to play second fiddle to Nam Joo Hyuk.

If Sohn Ho Joon was a lead, I’d definitely check this out because the man is brilliant and definitely needs to be upgraded from supporting roles.

But it’s... Nam Joon Hyuk who is... really easy on eyes but made me fall asleep...

So they have Han JiMin, Kim HyeJa and Sohn HoJoon and still thought that casting Nam JooHyuk as lead is a good idea. Poor so HoJoon must have sucky agent or maybe YG has so much clout in dramaworld?

It's especially the latter, obviously. Can't help but feel bad for the likes of SHJ.

The first thing Han Ji Min should do is go back and prevent Jekyll, Hyde from ever happening.

Sohn Ho-joon's scaredy cat character in My Secret Terrius was hilarious and I enjoyed it very much so he's also what caught my attention here despite it being very similar in tone. I'm looking forward to his portrayal. The leads look pretty dull so far. Sigh.

I havent watched terius but i hear good things about SHJ. I like him since reply1994. He was awesome as the lead in Go back couple. That drama was my fave of 2017. I hope he gets another lead role in the future~

Ive seen a lot of dramas about going back to time recently and yes, it is exhausting whether to change or not to change the future.

Ho joon is always a fun actor to watch and i may check out this drama because of him.

Han Ji Min was fantastic in Familiar Wife, Kim Hee Ja was absolutely phenomenal in the brilliant Dear My Friends, Sohn Ho Joo aced in Go Back Couple. I’m only iffy about NJH because BotWG was horrible but then there’s the amazing WLFKBJ, so let’s hope the plot sticks.🙏🤞

Lee Junki known to be coaching his fellow princes in moon lovers, and NJH did pretty well in it.
In WLFKBJ he had lee sung kyung (whom he already close with before the drama).
Lets just hope SHJ, whom NJH fellow farmer on 3MAD could bring him good influence.

I relate to SHJ's character description. Might just watch it to find out how a lazy bum spends his time.

Glad to see I'm not the only one in the comment section wondering why Son Ho Jun is the brother and not the lead.

uh huh, did she signed up because in her past drama she couldn't get to control the timeline as the privilege was given to the ML?
BTW, I thought Nam Joo Hyuk will stay in Chungmuro for a while now.

Well.. not my cup of soju. But Sohn Ho-joon. So I'm gonna try.
I'm only afraid it's gonna be "Bride of the water god" and Lim Ju Hwan for me all over again.

It's a masterpiece (I'm not sarcastic!) There's no overlap in Ho-joon's and Nam Joo-hyuk's roles. You don't have to choose between them in the show. They both played their roles wonderfully.
