What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim: Episode 14

The interoffice rumor mill can be a vicious thing, turning something sweet and beautiful into ugly, hurtful gossip. Thankfully, Mi-so has some viciously loyal supporters and only a few days left before she’s leaving for good. She starts to put some serious thought into what she wants to do with her life from now on, and the answer will be surprising to everyone – especially herself.

EPISODE 14 RECAP

The morning after their first night together, Young-joon wakes in bed alone, feeling fantastic. Mi-so walks in to tell him it’s time to get ready for work, but Young-joon is distracted by the fact that she’s wearing one of his dress shirts — and nothing else.

He quips that the shirt could get him fired for neglecting his work duties, and pulls Mi-so back into bed. Mi-so tells him that lately, he doesn’t look like the Young-joon she used to know. When he’s confused, she says that she likes this Young-joon much more.

But she still makes him get up, and over breakfast, Young-joon tries to serve her like she usually serves him. It makes Mi-so uncomfortable, but Young-joon informs her that he’s already handsome and competent, and now he plans on being considerate, too.

He asks why she won’t let him take care of her, and Mi-so admits she feels awkward because she’s used to being the one taking care of everyone else. Young-joon confesses that he’s used to being taken care of, but he wants her to try asking him to do things for her, though he can tell from her expression that that’s not gonna happen.

Gwi-nam arrives at work to find the office team choosing their vacation days so as not to overlap. They ask which days he wants, but he says he doesn’t take vacations, because going to sleep knowing his work is done is all the break he needs. Okay, that’s just getting obnoxious.

When Young-joon and Mi-so arrive, Se-ra asks if Mi-so is skipping vacation again this summer. Young-ok says she doesn’t need vacation time since she’s quitting in a week. The reminder seems to upset Mi-so, and she recalls Young-joon’s emotional objections when she first told him she was leaving, but she tells herself hopefully that he’ll probably ask her to stay again.

Young-joon invites Mi-so to his lunch meeting at a friend’s restaurant, and on the way, Young-joon says that he and his restaurant owner friend grew up together, and that the friend is a chaebol heir who gave up the chaebol life.

Imagine Mi-so’s surprise to find that the ex-chaebol heir, Yu-mi (cameo by Jung Yu-mi) is a woman, and a beautiful one at that. She eyeballs Yu-mi jealously as she enthusiastically hugs Young-joon, but Yu-mi seems genuinely thrilled to learn that Young-joon has a girlfriend at long last.

She remarks that Mi-so is pretty, and Young-joon says that she’s perfectly pretty to match his perfectly handsome face. Yu-mi notes that he’s as narcissistic as ever, and she imitates his “Aura!” gesture. Instead of being amused, Mi-so pouts that Young-joon does that in front of other women.

Yu-mi joins them while they eat and Yu-mi says that since Young-joon never dated, she’d worried he liked her, recalling that he even asked her to marry him once. Mi-so looks murderous until Yu-mi clarifies that they were only five when it happened, hee.

She’s called away by a customer, and Mi-so levels her best “You got some ‘splaining to do” glare at Young-joon. Then she slaps on a forced smile and trills that Young-joon was quite reckless as a child, proposing marriage. Young-joon reminds her that she proposed to him when she was only five, heh.

She insists that that was totally different, since she was a little girl feeling grateful to her rescuer. Young-joon delightedly accuses her of being jealous, and she scoffs that that’s ridiculous, but she refuses to let him even hand her a napkin when she stuffs too much food into her mouth.

Yu-mi returns with a jar for Young-joon to open, sparking Mi-so’s totally-not-jealouSung-yeon again. She looks ready to combust when Young-joon opens the jar, and he grows alarmed when he notices that Mi-so is holding her fork like a dagger.

After lunch, Mi-so gets a call and steps away. Yu-mi tells Young-joon that she can tell how much he likes Mi-so by his blissful expression, and he notes that she also seems happy to be doing what she enjoys.

She says that the thought of inheriting her family’s company stressed her out, but that although she made the difficult choice to refuse her inheritance, she’s happy living as her true self. Her words remind Young-joon of Mi-so’s reason for quitting, and he frowns.

On the drive back to work, still fuming, Mi-so thrusts her water bottle at Young-joon and blurts out, “Would you open this for me, Oppa?” LOL, Young-joon nearly sprains his neck, whipping his head back and forth between her and the road. He slams on the brakes and grabs his phone to record her “oppa” this time. He laughs and says that he’s enjoying her jealouSung-yeon more than any fine art he’s ever seen.

At the office, Young-joon asks if Oppa can carry Mi-so’s bag for her, or if Oppa can give her a piggyback, enjoying her flustered response. She snaps for him to forget she ever called him “Oppa” because it won’t happen again. Poor Young-joon.

Mom and Sung-yeon go shopping together, and return to find Dad snoring on the couch. They find it hilarious that he nodded off while reading Sung-yeon’s novel. Sung-yeon notices that he didn’t get very far into it, and they collapse into giggles, wondering how Dad ever managed to run a company.

Se-ra and Cheol sneak off to meet in the stairwell, where Cheol tells Se-ra that he’s got tickets for her favorite musical for tonight. She calls him her hero, pinching his cute little cheeks — but Team Leader Jung comes down the stairs so Se-ra smooshes Cheol’s cheeks hard and pretends to be scolding him.

When they’re alone again, Se-ra apologizes and says she wants to keep their relationship a secret. Cheol says his face is fine but his heart is broken, and walks away on the verge of tears.

When they get back to their desks, Team Leader Jung notices that Young-joon doesn’t use Cheol’s driving services anymore and wonders if Cheol will be fired. Se-ra yells that “our Secretary Yang” is important to the company, then backpedals to avoid being caught. She runs out, leaving Cheol grinning happily.

Young-joon offers to take Mi-so to visit her dad after work, but she says she can just take the bus. She shoots him the side-eye when he calls himself Oppa again, then refers to her sisters and her dad as his in-laws. At her surprise, he’s all, “Of course, aren’t you going to marry me?” Mi-so asks if he can marry her, when he’s had a fiancee since he was five. LOL.

At the hospital, Mi-so says it’s still too early to introduce Young-joon to her dad. She reaches up to affectionately straighten his tie, then gets caught by her dad, who bellows and makes her nearly strangle Young-joon.

Once he can breathe again, Young-joon is on his best formal behavior while Dad snarls that Young-joon spent nine years overworking Mi-so. He does thank Young-joon for getting him a VIP room, though he credits it to Mi-so’s years of hard work.

Despite Mi-so’s pleading expression, Young-joon tells Dad that they’re dating, and Dad freaks out in furious banmal. He says in no uncertain terms that he’s against their relationship, stunning Young-joon silent. A call from Yoo-shik brings Young-joon to his feet (to hilariously tower over Dad) and he meekly excuses himself.

When they’re alone, Mi-so asks her dad why he opposes their dating. Dad completely changes his attitude, grinning that he likes Young-joon quite a lot. He explains that Young-joon probably expects him to be thrilled that his daughter is dating a rich man, so he’s lying to make Young-joon even more determined to win her.

When Young-joon returns, Dad invites him to speak alone. He asks Young-joon how well he knows Mi-so, and Young-joon says that he knows a lot after working with her for nine years. Dad says that Mi-so is a good daughter who never worries him, never complains, and is the most considerate of his daughters.

He tells Young-joon that he was in an accident and couldn’t work, so she gave up on college to earn money since he couldn’t work. He says he was ashamed, but Mi-so had said it was okay with a smile on her face, though she must have been crying inside. Dad tells Young-joon that even if Mi-so smiles, he shouldn’t just trust it, because she always smiles even when faced with hardship.

He says that he knows of her resignation and asks Young-joon how hard he’s been working her that even Mi-so couldn’t handle it. Young-joon looks ashamed as Dad says that he hopes she finds what she wants to do, even though it’s a bit late.

Dad leaves Young-joon in the hospital lobby to wait for Mi-so, where he thinks hard about Mi-so’s desire to quit so she can discover what she wants to do with her life. He’s worried after hearing Yu-mi say she’s happier living life her way, and Dad’s comment that Mi-so should do what she wants to do.

Dad is grinning smugly when he gets back to Mi-so. He sends her back to Young-joon with a chuckle, thoroughly satisfied that he put just enough fear into Young-joon that he’ll treat Mi-so well.

Mi-so asks Young-joon if her father said something to upset him, since he was so quiet on the drive home. They go for a walk, where he asks what she plans to do after she resigns. She says she’s not sure, because she’s never had a chance to think about her own dreams or interests. Young-joon tells her to take her time and think about it.

He admits that he was selfish by trying to keep her with him, but now he doesn’t need to do that since he’ll always be with her. He tells Mi-so that she’s been a perfect secretary for nine years, but he’s ready to let her go.

He hugs her, then says to tell him when she decides what she wants to do, and he’ll support her no matter what. Mi-so says she will, but as he pulls her into another hug, she doesn’t look so sure anymore.

Team Leader Jung is all in a tizzy the next morning with yet another dating rumor, and the team tells Gwi-nam that he does this all the time and the rumors are never true. Team Leader Jung insists that this time there’s even a witness, and reveals that it’s Young-joon and Mi-so. They’re worried now about getting on Mi-so’s bad side and getting the ax, so they vow to work harder than ever.

In his office, Young-joon gives Mi-so a strange look, and he says that he’s thinking that he’ll only see her at work for a few more days, so he’s just appreciating each moment. He jumps up to backhug her as she’s leaving, and Mi-so looks up to see Team Leader Jung, Se-ra, and Ji-ah staring at them.

She jumps and closes the blinds, but Young-joon says they’ve been caught, so all they can do is face it head-on. He invites them into his office to tell them that what they saw is true — he and Mi-so are in love. He asks them to speak up if they have any reservations, but everyone says stiltedly that they’re totally fine with it.

Mi-so asks the three to keep this a secret, but Se-ra tells her that the whole company is already gossiping about it after they were seen on a date. Mi-so starts to notice all the stares and whispers, and grows uncomfortable.

Se-ra overhears two employees in the restroom speculating nastily that Mi-so probably got hired for her looks, considering her lack of education. Se-ra flies at the gossipers, yelling that Mi-so isn’t like that, and Ji-ah joins her to snap that Mi-so is practically perfect (after Young-joon, of course).

The harpies sneer that they can badmouth Mi-so all they want, accusing Se-ra and Ji-ah of brown-nosing, which sparks a vicious mopfight that Mi-so has to break up. She apologizes to Se-ra and Ji-ah and asks why they took the comments so personally. Se-ra says that Mi-so works harder than anyone, and Ji-ah says it’s not fair that everyone thinks Mi-so is quitting to get married.

Se-ra suggests they tell Young-joon about this and get those witches transferred to a branch in India, hee. But Mi-so says she doesn’t want to worry him and asks them to keep it quiet. But it’s too late, because he’s already heard about the fight through the Yoo-shik grapevine.

Yoo-shik says that Mi-so was accused of intentionally seducing Young-joon to get her job, infuriating Young-joon. He jumps up to find Mi-so, but Yoo-shik stops him, saying that Mi-so doesn’t want him to know and asking him to pretend for Mi-so’s sake. So when he sees Mi-so, Young-joon just tells her that he’s decided they should go to Daegu to inspect their new department store, even though he’d previously said he didn’t need to go.

Se-ra and Ji-ah limp back into the office to face the flurry of questions about their fight. Se-ra gasps that they couldn’t let Mi-so be slandered so unfairly. Gwi-nam takes concerned peeks at Ji-ah and asks if “they” are alright as Se-ra makes a big deal over a teeny scratch on her arm.

Cheol looks ready to go pound some heads, but Se-ra whispers to him that she’s really okay. He texts her to open her drawer, and inside she finds pain patches that he put there for her. Awww, where can I get one of him?

Young-joon is satisfied that the department store opening will go flawlessly, and after their meeting, he asks Mi-so on a date. He acts silly while taking pictures of her, cheering her up. They walk to an observatory overlooking the city, where Young-joon says the view is flawless like her, and he’s like the observatory, standing on a mountain.

Mi-so says that she knows Young-joon brought her to Daegu to make her feel better, and he admits that he knows what happened at the office. He suggests that she go ahead and quit a few days early, but she says she wants to work her last few days despite the gossiping.

Young-joon is worried she’ll get hurt, but she says she expected this when she entered into this relationship, and that she decided to love him regardless. Moved, Young-joon hugs her gratefully, then she says it’s time for a “hot date.”

Young-joon gulps, getting ideas, but Mi-so takes him to a marketplace for some spicy food. He gives the strange street food the hairy eyeball, but he tries it and decides he likes it, and starts stuffing his face.

The next day, Mi-so bravely steels herself to face her day at work. She arrives to find the team upset that another company has copied their design for a new laptop, and started their advertising first. Young-joon calls an emergency board meeting, where Yoo-shik says that the other company probably released their stolen design first to stave off accusations of plagiarism.

Young-joon asks if they can change their design, but Yoo-shik says that delaying their own laptop release would cause a bad ripple effect with the rest of their product launches for the year. One board member suggests they lower their laptop’s price, but Young-joon hates that idea. He decides to borrow technology from next year’s laptop model, arguing that if this year’s model isn’t successful, there won’t even be a next year’s model.

He leaves, and the board members plead with Mi-so to tell Young-joon that they didn’t have time to think of any countermeasures and were just flustered. She tells them he probably already knows, and warns that he’ll ask them later about what they plan to tell the press, prompting them on what kind of answers will appease him. Yoo-shik jokes that she reminds him of his mother after he’d get scolded by his father.

Mi-so swings into damage control mode, directing the office team on managing each department. Later she reports to Young-joon that the changes he requested will be made, having already gotten the patents altered, the budget adjusted, and the press releases prepared.

He’s impressed by her speed and efficiency, and wonders, a little sadly, if he’ll ever find a secretary as good as her. He says that the better she performs, the more he hates to see her go, and he sincerely thanks her for her years of hard work.

After a long day, the office team order in pizza for dinner. Mi-so thanks them for handling the difficult situation so well, and Se-ra says that those who criticized Mi-so for dating Young-joon should see how well she did today and realize that she got where she is on merit. Team Leader Jung laments that they’ll be lost when she’s gone.

Young-joon offers to drive Mi-so home, and when he drops her off, she says she has something to tell him. She says she’s decided not to quit her job, and Young-joon looks confused and asks if this is because of the problems today. He tells her not to worry about the company or him, because he’ll adjust to her absence.

He says she should go find what she wants to do, but Mi-so replies with a smile, “I’ve already found it. I think that staying as your secretary is what I want to do. Maybe I’m already doing the job I’m good at and is perfect for me.” Young-joon looks like he hardly dares to hope this is really happening.

Mi-so continues that she didn’t realize this job was her calling because she’d gotten so used to it. She says she enjoys solving problems, and the sense of achievement she feels after completing her work. She adds that she doesn’t want the person she loves to be in trouble, and when Young-joon ducks his head, humbled, she jokes that nobody else can handle him anyway.

She concludes, “You tried to let me go because you love me. But because I love you, I want to stay beside you.” Young-joon can’t even speak, looking like the most grateful man in the world.

He takes a deep breath and asks if he can stay for ramyun. They go inside and she finds one package that they can share, and Mi-so sighs that she’s incredibly happy right now. She says she’s always dreamed of cooking with her husband after work… then belatedly realizes what she just said.

She tries to jump up, but Young-joon isn’t about to let her get away now. He takes her hand and promises to make that dream come true, adding, “I want to be your husband. I want to marry you, Kim Mi-so.” Faced with a proposal that’s finally motivated by love, Mi-so is speechless, but her agreement is loud and clear.

Young-joon leans in to seal it with a kiss, but a voice bellows, “Objection!!” and they jump apart. Mi-so’s dad pops out from where he was hiding in her bed, screaming, “I object to this marriage!”

COMMENTS

Oh, this will be so much fun! Once again this drama is poised to flip a trope on its head, first with the way Young-joon’s rich parents wholly love and support Mi-so (and Mom’s not-so-subtle shipping of her with Young-joon) and now with her father violently objecting to their marriage. Even that’s a subverted trope, because he’s not really objecting, but just making Young-joon think he is so that he’ll value Mi-so that much more.

Although it’s a fake objection, Young-joon doesn’t know that, and I’m looking forward to him turning himself inside out to impress Dad when he’s never had to strain himself to impress anyone in his life. He’s not going to know what to do with himself, and I have a feeling that old Dad is pretty cheeky and will enjoy watching Young-joon prove himself, knowing all the while that he’s going to give them his blessing eventually.

Seeing Mi-so get jealous over Young-joon was the best thing ever — she’s always so composed and confident of Young-joon’s feelings for her, I think that meeting Yu-mi (fantastic cameo!) reminded her that he’s an attractive man to other women, even if he isn’t interested in them. She got a little reminder not to take Young-joon’s love for granted, which is never a bad thing, especially since he’s made no secret of the fact that he’s been hers since they met as children.

I love that Mi-so came to the decision to keep her job all on her own, without Young-joon even asking her. I was worried he would begin pressuring her to stay again, now that they’re together, since he loves being around her all the time. But without Young-joon even mentioning it, and in fact with him pushing her to follow her dreams, Mi-so realized that what she’s good at is helping him at work, and where she belongs is by his side. It was so sweet that Young-joon even tried to talk her out of it, which shows that he really, truly wants her happiness more than his own.

In fact, that’s what I love most about Young-joon… he actually listens to Mi-so. When she expresses her feelings or opinions, he takes her words at face value. He doesn’t act like he knows what’s best for her, or go behind her back and make decisions that affect her without her knowledge or consent (well, beyond keeping their connection a secret for nine years. But I’d argue that he had a very compelling reason to do so, as even telling her they knew each other would have reminded her of her trauma, when his intent was to protect her from the memories). Young-joon was worried that Mi-so was deciding to stay with him out of obligation, but when she said that no, she truly thinks it’s where she belongs, he believed her. He didn’t argue or play the noble idiot card or try to talk her out of it. He just, simply, believed her. I love how much respect Young-joon holds for Mi-so, as an employee, an old friend, and a lover. If they can get past Dad’s fake objections, they’re going to have a wonderful life together.

Se-ra made me fall in love with her with all her backing-up of Mi-so this episode. Hopefully we see them getting close and Mi-so getting new girlfriends, since her old ones kinda suck. I remember those judgy gazes when men products fell out Mi-so's bag.

Hmm, I have a lot of mixed feeling about that ending. I had a inkling that we were headed towards Mi so staying at her job and now that we are there. I am not sure I like it.

The truth is that I don't like boss-employee who become lovers. There is a imbalance of power that always bothered me. Especially when the female is the employee because as we saw in this episode, regardless of how hard she works, people will always question the work. Something that unfortunately doesn't happen to the man. And if they were to break up, it's the employee who would ultimately have to quit, so in that regard, I am not a big fan of that ending. Mi so is clearly a badass at her job and if she stays Young Joon's lover, I would prefer she became a director or manage her own department, but staying as her boyfriend's employee, mmm, not for me, but willing to hear other people's opinion as I feel it will be a dividing issue.

I felt like that too. And I understand that there are people that are just engeneered to always be helpers and not leaders. But I don't see Mi-So like that. She has the ability to manage a whole team. And some how I have the feeling that may be the ending for her. Young Joon offered her her own team at the beginning when she first told him she was leaving. I can see him offering it again.

Leadership is a trait not simply a matter of title or position. Mi So is a leader since people respect her, seek our her input and follow her requests. Even in a large company as a director or department head, you may be considered the "lead" in your own area but you'll have to be subordinate to someone else.

I completely agree with both of you! Boss-employee relationships are never a good idea long term - power imbalance, favoritism or the appearance of it, separation of work & personal life (like he could never fire her, for example). I know this is a kdrama, but good stories reflect reality and this just forces me to put all that aside and pretend that it won't be an issue.

I hope you are right that MS will grow to be a leader of her own team - so we have a little more growth and change in her journey!

I do love that the drama addresses how MS is judged by other people for dating the boss! This is something that bothered me about Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, so I'm glad they showed the difficulties of that situation!

He hired her in the first place because of who she was (her relationship to him) albeit w/o her knowledge. And not only is it obvious they are getting MARRIED, it seems common that these chaebol families employ the family members IN the company, so I don't think this is anything like the normal 'boss/secretary' kind of relationship that can get problematic (sometimes on one side, sometimes on the other...)

Hiring someone based on family relationship is nepotism and something that I never appreciate in kdrama especially when someone far more qualified is passed over in favor of the family relation.

It's something that a few dramas have approached and I totally understand the frustration those characters must feel as it is not ok.

Right, I do agree that this is a special case because YJ and MS will likely be able to avoid some of the real world issues related to THEIR relationship. However, they will and already are experiencing the side effects of how they are received by others. MS will never be able to get a promotion or any favor without people assuming its because she's the boss's girlfriend/wife, no matter how competent she is. Which sounds like the price she is willing to pay, but it can be demoralizing if people think she only gets ahead because of that, and think that they are not recognized properly as a result. Again, this is a nice fluffy rom com so I get why they aren't going into that, but personally I can't turn my brain off and fully go with it, no matter how adorable they are!

I agree 200% with what you said.

The rumors will be even more rampant if Miso became a director or manager. Not because our girl is incompetent, but because the whole company will assume she got promoted because she is the vice chairman's girlfriend. Miso doesn't even have a college degree.

This is what I was hoping this drama would explore, MiSo upgrading herself and getting some educational credits.. I'm from an Asian country and I understand how big a thing this is, to hold a degree. I wish she would eventually work separately from Young Joon and build herself up but then we have two episodes left.. Now if only we could get a season 2.

Maybe what will happen is she takes a 'break' for a couple of years to go back to school and get her degree. You know, the forced separation we always get near the end of the stories.

It would be cool for her to get her degree then come back to the company in a management role. At least that is what I'm hoping for.

How else are they going to resolve this awkward boss/secretary role going forward?

I think it’s ok for her to want to remain his secretary. Some people just want to work comfortably under leader. As head secretary, she manages other secs, but she doesn’t make business decisions like Director Park. Executing an agenda and setting agenda is a different skill set. She may not find leading the business desirable. I know a lot of executive assistants who have no interest becoming executive, even though they know the business inside out, probably better than the one they assist.

I personally wouldn’t work w my partner because I’ll grow bored of seeing someone 24/7, but if she had that professional satisfaction for 9 years, why give it up now? Maybe she’ll find problems eventually but there’s no need to worry at the moment.

Yeah. I like that she has realized that she is not only good at her job, but that she loves doing it. That she didn't waste her life working all these years rather than going to school and chasing her dreams. And it's lovely that she wants to be with Young-joon and help him because she loves him.

But . . . Honey, do you really want your boyfriend/fiance/husband to be your boss?

Usually, the smart woman will let the bf/fiance/husband think they're the boss or act like they're the boss externally but behind closed doors she's the boss and in important matters, she's the one making it.

I think the sticking point to continuing their boss/secretary team is that YJ and MS can't go back to the purely boss/secretary relationship during their work hours.

YJ was jealous when MS was smiling at Gwinam in ep 13 and MS was upset when everyone was talking negatively about YJ. And in an earlier episode when MS and YJ were having a fight, she found that she is no longer able to just smile and agree.

I don't want to split up their partnership, but I think there could be a lot of office friction and tension. I think MS is more than capable to be director of something, but I don't want people to think she got the role because she's the VP's gf. She could be secretary in another big company, but I don't like the idea of her being someone else's secretary. Maybe she could go to college and then get an MBA, and then come back to the company as a big shot?

This is a area where "clear lines" in terms of generic policy (in terms of company or even social policy) founders on the specific cases. For a company, clearly a generic policy makes sense since if anything goes wrong in a subordinate/superior romantic relationship it is going to be messy.

But in any relationship specifics, ie between two INDIVIDUALS, power dynamics are not cut and dried.

I agree. While I'd prefer it if Mi So were not his Secretary - frankly I think she should be in another company where she is not just treated as any other employee but IS any other employee - I also don't see why she should leave something she likes so much just because she's dating her boss. Doubly so because the question of him leaving cannot even arise.

If the two of them can make it work fairly, then all is good. The power dynamics though, are definitely skewed against her, and in a no-good way.

I am not so sure that it would necessarily be better for her to work at another company. At least YJ, at this point in time, will treat her well. No guarantees that another company’s boss will treat her well. Ultimately, it depends on what she wants to do with her career. If she wants to go back to school, then YJ would support her decision now or do something completely different. But it seems like she likes what she’s doing.

I agree!! I saw it coming but I was really hoping she would get to go to college, explore her options and then decide. I was kind of turned off by her decision despite my love for the show and this couple. Honestly, with her experience in addition to a degree, she probably could've started up her own company and even partnered with Young Joon! SMH!!!

I agree. It would have been better for MS to quit her job to get some breathing room away from YJ. She has never had a real chance to socialize with other men, to compare and contrast their traits to YJ's. But in the end, I see that MS will find her perfect problem solving job: running her marital home and raising her children.

I love their relationship. I have started to see this trend in Kdramas that the relationships have started to be more RL than before. Relationships where there is communication and consent versus weeks of misunderstandings and girls that have no sexual desires. Don't get me wrong you can tell be cute and proper w/o being a bore. So I am really liking this type writing. Bring on the final week.

She is clearly the comic relief and contrast to Kim Mi So. Yoo Shik is the President (and presumably CEO, in a western context) so he should have the highest executive authority in the company.

I really just think that are friends. Ma-eum is a little ditzy and clumsy, yes, but she is sweet and seems to look out for Yoo-shik.

When she came into the office to bring him the cake she bought for him while she was out to lunch, then tripped and dropped it on his shirt.

While she makes mistakes, it has not been anything that has been harmful to his position. When you see the examples, that are really mundane things and not the result of him not being able to fully do his job.

Yoo Shik strikes me as a level headed guy who if it came to having to fire Ma-uem, it will be because she did something that affected to the bottom line.

Me again...honestly I think they should use the 'separate for a time' trope. Mi So should go discover herself before committing to this relationship. Her identity has always been wrapped up in Young Joon. Who is she when she's not his secretary? I would love to have seen her take the time off, go travel, pursue a hobby, try new things for herself. Don't get me wrong, I do love them as a couple! They are super adorable and really seem meant for each other but I still think Mi So's identity is a little subsumed by his. I'd love to see her go away, find herself and then come back, confident that she's Young Joon's equal.

I know she has already figured out what she wanted and I thought she gave some good reasons as to how being Super Secretary is her calling, but the drama hasn't done as solid of a job convincing me that MS has really given this a lot of thought. She had been preoccupied by the childhood trauma drama and then with the budding romance with YJ. Earlier this year, I had wondered if my profession was something I wanted to continue and had worried about me limiting my future. I even talked with people about it and sought advice. I even looked into other potential careers. I had stressed about it. I'm half-convinced that's why there existed (before I pulled it out) a strand of hair with 5 inches of white.

I agree with RenOishi that a separation trope would have made sense here. There is still some time left, so maybe she will get a chance to leave and do a 3 month internship somewhere. I would like to see her get the chance to go to college too. It is weird that there were probably only 9 days out of their 9 year relationship when she actually had the day to herself.

I remember when she took her day off and couldn't think of anything to do! I would love to see her take the time to draw out all her dreams - even if she just does it in her apartment - something to emphasize that she isnt just settling, that she is really thinking about what she wants her life to look like. I think that's what the show is going for, but I dont think her decision to stay has had the weight it deserves

1

Required fields are marked *

Agree. Even if she decides to stay a secretary, there is still so much she needs to figure out about herself. It doesn't just stop at a job and a boyfriend.

Hobbies, interests, friends. As we saw, Mi so doesn't really seem to have any because she spends all her time working or with Young Joon.

Same here - I also hope Mi So will take some time off to study. She can come back to join the company. Who cares what other employees say - whether you like it or not, in reality nepotism/favouritism will always be there in a corporate environment. Most self-made companies are run by family members/relatives or if both husband and wife are capable, jointly. The rule of no personal relationship at workplace is usually applicable for employees to avoid conflict of interest - not to the owner of the company.

I can kinda understand everyone’s points to a degree, but personally I think her decision was spot on and I was hoping she would decide for herself that she wanted to stay and that was where she belonged. I don’t like the idea or concept that being “just a secretary” is demeaning or not good enough, or some sort of degree or extra schooling is necessary or desirable, that unless you have an extra piece of paper or “degree” you are worth nothing, and that’s what your value is based on, I hate this stigma of society. Or that you can’t know what you want in life or “find yourself” unless you pursue higher education or travel or have a hobby etc. Those things are fine if that’s what you want to do, but saying you can’t have a fulfilling life or be respected without them is very narrow minded imo. I think she has beyond proven herself, her abilities, skills, value, worth to everyone that matters, but most importantly she has proved it to herself. I don’t see her job as menial or “not good enough” that she has to be in some higher position to be acceptable or happy. True satisfaction comes from not only liking or loving your job but moreso in doing it well, to the best of your ability, taking pride in your work, no matter how small, and you can tell she truly loves what she does, it gives her confidence, even when she thought it was just a job she was forced into 9 years ago, when it came down to it, it was always where she felt the most useful, empowered, and like she said, it was the challenges and solving problems that brought her the most joy & sense of accomplishment. She didn’t like it when Young Joon tried to take some of the workload or menial tasks away, because only then did she feel useless or dispensable. There is nothing wrong or insignificant about being a take charge, kick ass, efficient & dependable top notch secretary, I was one myself (or at least strived to be, and I loved it!) And now that she is totally valued, appreciated & recognized by Young Joon & all her fellow employees, and anyone that matters, not random gossiping peons, that’s really all she needs. And being able to do that with someone you truly love and not some jerk ass boss is just icing on the cake. So I don’t see the need at all for her to go search somewhere else for her “place” when she’s been in it all along. That’s what I loved about her realization the most, it WAS her decision.

I agree, there is nothing wrong with her wanting to be a secretary and finding meaning in her job. It's just that she hasn't been anything BUT a secretary and I feel that for the sake of her identity, she needs to find out more who SHE is outside of the office and on her own. To be a healthy, well rounded human we need interests and pursuits outside of our jobs and any partners. I don't think it's healthy to be so wrapped up in another person; each individual in a partnership shouldn't lose their individuality! It's not her 'place' I'm talking about, it's who she IS when she ISN'T Young Joon's secretary or girlfriend. That's what I'd like to see.

With the mystery resolved and the couple together, this show goes in circles. Dad objecting is lame since he already told us he doesn't actually object. Is Miso ever going to tell her family she was kidnapped as a kid with Young Joon and witnessed a suicide? I don't mind Miso staying at her job because secretarying is all she knows how to do and she's damn good at it, but perhaps she can work in another department. Lord knows Yoo Shik needs a new secretary. That mopfight was wild. How does that even happen in a company? Thanks, @ LollyPip, for the recap!

Park Min Young is so sexy that I had to pause and admire. Please share your figure managing secrets!

Mixed feelings about Miso staying, again stemed from knowledge of the storyline. With adaptations writers aren’t so free to make changes without backlash. At least we get some explicit explanation of Miso’s feelings and she was given time to think on her own. Of course I personally can’t stand seeing a person 24/7, but I guess PSJ is not one of my choices.

I have a problem with the cameo because it really drew out of lines that all the episodes earlier managed to stay in — that Lee Young Joon was traumatized and had no female friends. Even if they met before the kidnap, it makes more sense that he would stay away from her and they grew apart. I understand the cameo was just fan service for Yoon’s Kitchen fans, but still, it could have been plotted better.

I love the secretary team❤️. This group of klutzy wacky gossipy underproductive coworkers makes work life so pleasant. THEY would be reason to stay working there.

Required fields are marked *

We aren't specifically told when he changed his name although presumably fairly soon after the event. So YuMi would have had 20 years of referring to him as Young Joon.

Events also have a way of being much "larger" to the people directly involved relative to others. All in all, the entire kidnap lasted less than 2 days (more or less). There was no arrest, trial etc etc. It was kept from the news. So it is more than likely only a small circle of the family even knew about it or the aftermath.

Bear in mind that Yu Mi too would have been only around 9 years old at the time and it is more than likely she would not even recall a few day absence of a friend at school.

I doesn’t matter how old they were or if Yumi knows about the kidnap. The fact that our VC had no female friends and doesn’t even touch his dates, but suddenly can causally hug to greet a lady is inconsistent. If he saw her not as a woman, then he probably should treat her the way he treats Yoo-Shik. Now recall the number of times poor YooShik got pushed to a side or left standing with open arms while he walked off.... 🤨

Yes! I was sitting there and thinking ‘hang on, just how?’. YJ was traumatised of young woman even after he finished studying in the US and joined the company. Cue: him walking in the office corridors and basically jumping out of his socks when two women said hi to him. So that means when he said they studied overseas together they couldn’t have been close! It doesn’t make sense! Mi So is the only girl he has ever been close to, even as co workers.

I get it that Mi So is exceptional in her job and figured out that’s what she wants to do but how will she manage all the side eyes thrown her way? It will be hard.

Yes. But they studied together and were apparently close when they were ‘grown ups’. He couldn’t even kiss Mi So, the girl with whom he shared his trauma and the girl he loved. He had no trouble hugging this young woman now which meant he had hugged her in the past or else she would have been surprised.

YES! That hug made it all wrong. The fact she asked him to do things casually made it all wrong — like he’s used to it. If he didn’t see her as a woman he should be treating her like how he treats YooShik.

Conclusion: this scene was poorly written and forced.

8

Totally agree, that whole story line completely came out of left field and like you said was not at all consistent with the rest of the story, and really undermined Young Joons whole character credibility, like it was just shoved in there as an afterthought. All it did was give Mi So a taste of jealousy and was cute seeing Young Joons reaction, but could definitely done without it

They feed off each other in every aspect of their relationship and it's a beautiful thing to watch and see.

And I also don't agree that she (or anyone for that matter) should take his love for granted. That is the end for relationships of any kind. Not that you shouldn't trust that its there, but rather never assume that it's always going to be there no matter what she does. Love should never be taken for granted is what I mean to say.

Thanks for the recap, LollyPip!
I'm still enjoying the romance between Mi So & Young Joon. Their touching/cute/cheesy scenes make me smile.

I have mixed feelings about Mi So's decision. Part of me wanted to see her try something new and go on a different path. On the other hand, I understand how she feels about her job. She's excellent at it and I would also enjoy the sense of satisfaction after solving problems for the company. It's a good, stable job. Not everyone has big dreams.

In the past, she was too focused on her work tasks, taking care of Young Joon, and paying off her Dad's loans that she did not have much of a life outside work. And Young Joon was too demanding then. So she does need to balance her work and life better. Maybe I would like to see her still take a break from work and go traveling or pursuing some interests before firmly deciding to keep her job or not.

Se Ra and Ji Ah really won me over this episode. Love how they stood up for Mi So. I'm liking the side romances too.

You know... I thought about that too. Having her make a trip and getting to see other sceneries and people and then still decide to keep her job, but the problem is: she is now in a serious relationship with YJ as well, and if they are soooooo much in love, she wouldn't want to go anywhere without him.
Maybe they both need a together.

Anyways, I don't have so much of mixed feelings because just like Ally said (comment 20) down, there are many couples working together and if they both enjoy their work, it is fun.

If I have someone so dear in my life, I would enjoy also working with that person. Of course, it can be challenging for you have to fulfill different roles, and life can get mixed and twisted once in a while, or angry or stressed out... Of course! But that is life, that is the way it is. There is a lot to learn and I bet it is more worth than boring, depending on the dynamic of the persons involved.
While having the one you love to support you, make you laugh or endure problems most of the time, that is cool.
I wish I could have that.

I’ve been listening to the LIVE soundtrack this week and seeing Jung Yu-mi’s cameo made me miss it even more. 😢 I really liked that Mi-so came to realize that her competence as Young-joon’s Secretary was far and above anyone else that would replace her and that they work like a well-oiled machine together. It’s hard to train someone to fill those very large shoes and it would take years for another secretary to be able to anticipate his business needs before he even does. I’ve had to train so many people to work for me and it takes so much time, you’re less efficient, less productive, and did I mention the time it takes, to get to the point where they know what you need before you even ask and it’s just done right! It takes a huge load off your mind. I can totally relate to Young-joon this episode. And I’ve known business owners where their office managers are their spouses until thy retire! I even know a lawyer that married his secretary (and they might be our best friends)! My husband and I have talked about opening a practice together as well. We run a household together which is much harder than a business in my opinion! Young-joon would not be able to be as successful without her. I think he finally realized that this episode. He had given himself sole credit for so long, and took her for granted. Their working relationship was amazing, but you can bet he’ll appreciate her 100 times more now. And screw the office gossip, she’s proven her worth over nine years, but that still won’t stop the jealous backstabbing (remember my lawyer-friend, they’ve been married for almost 20 years but everyone initially thought it was a superficial fling and scandalized it because she was much younger and he had just separated from his first wife). The heart is a strange thing. It loves what it loves and it makes you do crazy things, like change your direction in life, go back on what you thought you wanted, and stay with the one you love.

Ally you explained my sentiments exactly! There is nothing wrong with her wanting to keep doing what she knows she loves and is damn good at for heaven sakes. They have proved how well they work together, and then being a couple will just make it better, and no that is not unrealistic for couples or families to work together, it’s very common! They are even better “together” and they were exceptional before, but with their history, there is no separating them now. I would have been very disappointed had she decided to leave. I think her decision came very naturally & perfectly.

Required fields are marked *

Not that I am upset with MS deciding she wants to remain as his Secretary, because this show is a "fantasy show", totally fairy tale-like, I have never had high expectations nor have I believed it would be realistic, but... keeping her as his Secretary, my guess is that this is the classical solution for an easy writing (I am not saying lazy writing), but easy.

It is simply easier for me as a writer, where the kidnapping plot took me 12 episodes of my 16, to now address again the fact that she wanted to leave in order to "find herself", and make her realise she didn't need it after all, because she is her best where she already is. It is convenient.

I bet they will now focus on the wedding and showing the new dynamic of keeping on working together, and that's it.
Boring, some people may think. I just feel it is not original, but it is better than having the typical hateful mother in law who would try to give her money to break them up, or the typical scene he letting her go, just to run after her at the airport, making her lose the flight ticket because she will stay anyways,on the last episode.
On the other hand, at least, this show is funny, it has remained funny for 14 episodes, and again... That is ok. It is a funny easy fantastic modern fairy tale.
No need to discuss further. LOL 😂

So Daddy’s not above a little scheming?
And, once again we hear Secretary Yang’s own heroic theme song as once again he ‘rescues’ Se-ra. I hope that they at least get to announce their engagement before this is over.
And, once again Woo-shik gives his friend great advice- that prevents an incident over Secretary Kim becoming a problem for the company- and spares her feelings. But where is Woo-shik’s happy ending? In every episode he proves that he deserves one. More to the point- is it a premise of this show that the single women of Korea are blind? I am not saying that they should be mobbing him but shouldn’t he should be getting at least a constant stream of subtle, discrete hints from at least those who know of him-wherever he goes? I am talking about the kind of signals that are socially acceptable for women to use to get a man’s attention when they want to. Sadly, with only 2 episodes to go it does not appear that Woo-shik’s happy ending will happen before the curtain calls.
And it has finally dawned on Secretary Kim that she does not need to find herself- she wasn’t lost. She has become an incredibly skilled professional. Professionally, Secretary Kim thinking that she should ask what she wants to do is on a par with a highly skilled brain surgeon wondering if she should find out what she wants to do: it is silly- and yes, Secretary Kim’s skill set are at about that same level, she is not just another office worker. As for what she wants outside of work- that is precisely what Young-soon wants to give her. The final scene was perfect. Young-soon has proposed again- but in a different way that makes it clear that he understands now what he is asking “I want to be Mi-so’s husband”. And then suddenly there is Daddy objecting. It was first deeply touching- and then hilarious.

Yes Oldlawyer exactly! She IS a professional on every level and already loves what she does! Why would she have to waste more years of her life getting a “degree”, starting over at ground zero in another career, trying to work her way up, with no guarantee of success only to find she didn’t really want to do that? Then still being back in the same place she was at, with no time to pursue other things, date or marry & start a family, that’s why she was going to quit in the first place, but then she would really be too old to do that. The whole idea that what she wanted all along was right in front of her and she just didn’t realize it is what this whole drama is about and I love it. This notion that the grass is always greener, or your dream is just over the rainbow that you have to chase, never being satisfied, or think you’re missing out on something or have to turn your life upside down & do something drastic to “find yourself” really irritates me, and usually leads to disappointment & frustration at not finding it and wasting your life away in search of it. She has found satisfaction, fulfillment, happiness & the love of her life, why would she have to go search something or somewhere else, just “to make sure”? Just doesn’t make sense.

I have mixed feelings. I really want Mi Soo to go and explore the world. On the other hand, she made the decision for herself. I should respect that. I kept thinking, "how do you know this is what you want? You haven't done anything else. " But, some people don't have to try on 100 hats. One is enough. Sorry this comment is so poorly written. Its really me grappling with how I feel with this development.

I luff Dad. He's hilarious. And seeing Young-joon quietly sitting in front of Dad sternly standing over him, only for Young-joon to stand up and be towering over Dad just made me laugh.

I'm not real pleased with her decision to remain his secretary. Not that I think staying with his company is a bad idea - she enjoys her work and most of her social circle is there - but after putting her extremely impressive crisis-resolution skills on display in this episode, it's obvious that she should be in management. As much as Young Joon values her, she's wasted as his secretary.

As she demonstrated towards the end of the episode she is not a regular secretary- most places would actually classify her as an Executive Secretary- it is a truly serious position. If you have watched closely you would have notice how often she is instructing Young-soon on what he has to do next, who he has to meet with or is about to call him, etc. He is her boss but in a sense she is his foreman- the person who keeps him on task. Those cross resolution skills are a part of that very valuable skill set. I remember watching a Taiwanese comedy where such an executive secretary is a lesser character and the main lead turns to his friend and asks "how much would' it cost to have one of those. His friend simply holds up all five fingers of his hand (its a five figure salary) - to tell him that he cannot afford someone like her. Please note- she has the authority to issue orders- which are to be treated as if they came from the vice-chairman himself.

Very good explanation. I think one's job title is meaningless if the boss/superior does not empower or trust him/her to perform well. You can be a manager but if you're unable to anticipate what the company needs or act fast in crucial moments, there's no point being called a manager.
Mi So is like YJ's right hand. She anticipates what he needs and also whatever is the objective/goal, she just sets her mind to have it carried out instead of coming up with excuses.

In the US, we would call her an "Executive Assistant" and not "Secretary."

Also, in this drama, she does have a managerial rank (I don't recall exactly what: I think one rank below Director?), which reflects her power, responsibilities, and salary level to be higher than what we would normally consider as "secretary"

thank you for bringing some clarity to her job title vs function, @oldawyer and @mc2107 !

I appreciate the clarification! I almost wish the subbers hadn't bothered to translate her title in that case, since English speakers are going to have a very different idea of what a secretary is (and in fact, "secretary" has negative enough connotations at this point that it's not much in use in the US anymore).

Yes she is by no means “just a secretary” or “wasted”!

Romance in workplace? depends on the couple. If you respect each other and are 200% committed and you know your boundaries it will definitely work. In this drama MS and YJ have respect for each other and are committed to each other and she knows her boundaries.

Talking with experience :) I married my superior at work :P we worked together for 12 years. He was one of the manager among other 5 managers at work and I worked under him in the same department. He is very shy and although 30 never had a girlfriend and there was a rumour that he was gay at some point as well. He was a hard working manager not only give instruction to his subordinates like other manager but also support them and work together to complete the task. I, on the other hand was also a diligent at work and own the task I have to complete and totally dedicated to my job when I am at it. Although I didn't fancy him but I liked him as a person. After 12 years when I was transferred to another branch he asked me out. Without much thinking I accepted as I knew him for all those 12 years. After 2 years of courtship we got married and I moved back to my old branch and still work under him. Although he is not my direct line Manager he is still one of my manager.
It work for us because we have total respect for each other and good at what we do at work and both of us are 200% committed to our relationship. We don't cross the line at work. He is much calmer and sensible person than me so it works even much better for me :)
We don't get the issue at home affect us at work. and when we come back home we do discuss about work but don't get work affect our relationship at home. It was not discussed to do it this way, it just naturally happens for us. and I believe because we have total respect for each other and we are very much committed in our relationship.
p.s. he is english and I am asian and I just turned 50 this year and very much in love with my husband :)

Thanks for sharing your happy story. I also see no problem with MS and YJ working together. Just like your story, they've both worked together as a great team for so many years and when decide to take their relationship to a personal level, both are already mature adults (in 30's). You guys are not teenagers or those who just came out to join the workforce in their early 20's. By the time you've been working for 10 years, you would be able to handle most of what comes your way with the work experience you have.
Wishing you everlasting happiness with your other half.

With each episode, I love this drama more. This episode tackles office gossip and jealousy. I can rewatch Young-joon teasing Mi-so with the oppa talk all day, it's so cute! Se-ra and Ji-ah are Mi-so's cutest cheerleaders, especially Se-ra, it was so heartwarming the way they stood up for Mi-so, the secretarial office knows her worth and I bet to them, she's on the same pedestal as Young-joon. Knowing how much they support her relationship with Young-joon must mean a lot to Mi-so. The jealousy part was cute as, but I do find it weird Young-joon has a female friend, I'm not gonna dwell on it too much though, cos the cute has got me firmly in its clutches. Young-joon's proposal was so swoonly, he wanted to be her husband, to grant her wishes of simple happiness together, made me melt.
I'm glad Mi-so made her own decision regarding her stay. At this point, she's happy being Young-joon's secretary and making his life so much easier, I'm glad Young-joon finally realised how much she worked so that he's able to concentrate on other stuff. The sincere thank yous have been a long time coming. I'm happy Young-joon supported her decisions, be it quitting or not, he didn't say a word about asking her to stay. Young-joon is fast becoming one of my favourite characters in dramaland.

This show has been interesting in terms of consent in K-dramas. I think the situation with the French company was not just a convenient way to separate Young Joon and Mi So for a week; it showed that Young Joon was sensitive enough to figure out that the French company had gotten cold feet, despite having already signed a contract (saying "yes") with his company. He was also smart enough not to force a lawsuit for breach of contract, but instead, finessed the situation by flying to France, meeting with them and renegotiating.

Similarly, Mi So had seemed to consent that night on the couch when Yoo Shik interrupted them with the French situation. Afterward when Young Joon tried to pick up where they left off, she got cold feet - maybe because they were no longer in the heat of the moment, and it seemed too much for her in the cold light of day, maybe for some other reason.

While it originally seemed to be a passive "yes," (based on her reaction afterward, when she debated with excitement whether to rebutton or leave her shirt unbuttoned, and wondered when he was coming back), it was also either not a fully active "yes" or it maybe it was a "not-no."

But even if it had been a fully voiced, active "yes" on her part that night, Mi So still was well within her rights to say "no" afterward. Saying "yes" once doesn't mean you consent every time afterwards. People can change their minds.

While the French company situation was not in my opinion the best parallel, it showed Young Joon could handle the "two steps forward, one step back" relationship with sensitivity and nuance, and not just bull-doze his way forward by insisting on his rights and a previous agreement. Similarly he took Yoo Shik's advice, and recalibrated his approach with Mi So with improved sensitivity and honesty. He also told her that he wanted her to be happy finding out what she wanted to do in life, and wouldn't try to hold her back. When he backed off, she moved forward. I think that was necessary in their relationship for both of them.

When Mi So came to see him at his house in the last scene of episode 13, she told him very clearly that she was there to spend the night with him. I think it was probably also good, so that there would be no mistakes, that Young Joon said very clearly that if she walked into his house that was her consent. (I dunno - it still seems a little weird to me. I think she - or he - should have been able to back out of any activity at any point, even if she did walk into his house. I don't think "no backsies" works for sex.) She clearly understood, and clearly acted out her consent by walking into his house, so I guess that works. I am glad she said "I love you" back to him.

Thanks, perelandro! I think this consent/bulldozer relationship issue was a good part of where the writers put their efforts this week. They evidently didn't put too much effort into wrapping up Young Joon's family arc believably, instead tying it up in a perfunctorily neat & artificially tidy bow, lol.

that is actually my only sore point with this show: the Family Drama arc ended in a very unsatisfactory way. What's worse is that I really don't care about the brother or his feelings etc, and yet, that scene with Young-Joo's dad sleeping while trying to read a book was sooooooo unnecessary!!! I mean, one minute, Brother was supposed to be returning to France (or whichever country he was residing in previously), all in a huff, and now, in the name of having had a very-quick chat with Young-Joon with bad tears, he's staying AND all smiles with his parents?? The very same parents who left the burden of keeping the family together on the shoulders of a too-smart-for-his-own-good child Young-Joon?

naaaaaah! Not buying that little development in the least. *major side-eye*

Yes the family drama was resolved much too quickly & easily. Such a build up of years of deep seated emotions & secrets to be wrapped up with almost no emotion, was a big let down

That was waaay too pat, wasn't it? Tonally, it was so weird to see Young Joon's brother giggling with his mom about his napping father...like all is well now.

Not that I begrudge them a happy ending, it was just too fast and unbelievable.

I know a lot of people will criticize the lack of conflict in the last couple episodes, but I kinda love it? It's sort of refreshing to just watch characters interact with each other, build upon their relationships with others, and fall in love. I adore the office dynamics and all the side couples. If they're going to give us just 2-3 episodes of that without the classic "chaebol heir's parents are against the relationship" or "someone is trying to sabotage the company" or anything like what we've been seeing, I like that. Not to say no Korean dramas should have conflict, but I'm enjoying everyone just living their lives. I can see this drama as one I'd go back to when I want something light and feel-good to watch.
