Spot the odd one out in character posters for Age of Youth 2

We’ve got some new character posters of our five Belle Epoque housemates. I honestly can’t wait to have these girls back on my screen, so it’s a good thing Age of Youth 2 is steadily churning out promo material while we wait for the show to air later this month.

It looks like half of our original housemates have remained pretty much unchanged, whereas the other two will show a new side to themselves since the first season. Han Ye-ri, as the eldest unni Jin-myung, gives a brooding look with the accompanying copy, “The woman of steel. Poker-faced as always.” I’m glad to see Ji-won, played by Park Eun-bin, is her same bubbly self a year down the line, though she might not be as happy to find herself still single. Her poster hilariously includes her the nickname from the first season, “the female Shin Dong-yup” (comedian Shin is known for his R-rated gags and jokingly pervy image), and also wonders whether she’ll be able to leave her solo life behind.

Han Seung-yeon will portray a more somber Ye-eun, who is still grappling with the emotional trauma of being kidnapped by her psycho ex in the last season. Her poster hints at a better future waiting for her, though: “The end of the idiot-in-love. The start of a new relationship?” Aw, I have to say I wasn’t a huge fan of her character last year, but I do look forward to watching her heal and learn to trust enough to start a new relationship this season. Youngest housemate Eun-jae, played by Ji-woo, will return also changed: “In the middle of evolving from super timid to the testy one.” Lol, wallflower Eun-jae with a temper? Love it.

Choi Ara, playing the mysterious Jo Eun, stares out as the descriptor reads, “Belle Epoque’s new face. The tall girl with the short black hair.” I find it hilarious that even here, they’ve managed to emphasize the new housemate’s height: The girls’ posters only show their faces at the bottom, but Jo Eun fills her entire poster. I haven’t been able to really get a grasp of her character’s personality from the promos released so far, so it’ll be interesting to see how she’ll fit into the dynamic with the rest of the Belle Epoque girls.

Age of Youth 2 will premiere on August 25 in JTBC’s Friday-Saturday slot.

Will watch this! The first season is one of my favourite dramas, and I hope this will retain the slice of life feel. I have faith in the writer so despite the cast change for Eun-jae I'm just going to hypnotise myself and think that they're the same person. I'm most looking forward to the continuation of Ji-won and Sung-min's story as they were so cute together in season 1. That, and Han Ye-ri's acting performance.

I'm really loving the new posters, it's very fresh and cute! I have a feeling this will be one of the shows where the changes aren't actually a bad thing. It's gonna be interesting to see how they play this new girl. I hope they don't focus too much on her being a tomboy and have a decent storyline.

I'm pretty much over all the changes and am ready for this, but I'll definitely miss a few things:

- Ji-won's fun bob
- Cutie chef: he was so cute, sweet, and patient w/ Jin-myung. I really wanted to see them pick up where they left off. He was so happy that she finally reciprocated his feelings and even wanted to keep in touch. So what happened?
- Hwa-young as Kang sunbae: at least she'll stop by for a couple eps.

All that said, I'm very much looking forward to s2. The promos have all been super cute and has successfully brought back all the feels. I loved that one promo pic from s1 that showed the girls' lying down w/ things and objects that described their character, so I would've liked to see that here, too, so we can get a glimpse of how they're like now. There's still turn for churnin', so I hope to see a group promo photo soon!?

Aww man. Having seen these posters, I am really missing Kang Unni. I love her in the first season and I also really wanted to see the continuation of her storyline with her gigolo friend. Shame.

They look so good in all of the poster :) I will make sure to join in the recap for this new season

Ji Won's new hairstyle looks cuter than before. While I relate to Eun Jae and Jin Myung character so much (because they could be the k-drama version of me), my favorite character in season 1 so far is Ji Won, because she has almost all of the positive extrovert traits that I wish I had in me and I'm so jealous of her for that..

These posters are amazing in how they convey the new housemate's physical presence; it's even better when they're placed side by side. Oh, I can't wait! August 25th come faster!!!

omg I legit thought Choi Ara was Yoon Jisung for the first time and when I looked back, I thought it was Minah in boyish wig...

And how come Han Seungyeon is 30 (in Korean Age) now...? She really doesn't look her age

Can't wait! The casting change is a little weird but not enough to keep me from watching. I hope they can rekindle the original magic.

ahhh so eun-jae will just have an actress change? Hopefully the transition is smooth. I can't wait to see how their stories develop in season 2! it's so rare that a kdrama gets a 2nd season~
