Han Ye-seul considers offer to headline No Sex and the City

Fall MBC drama No Sex and the City may have found its female lead in Han Ye-seul (Madam Antoine). Although her agency has said that it’s only one of a few projects she’s currently reviewing, I think this type of drama would be a perfect match for her vibrant personality and acting style. This new rom-com will be about the cherished friendships, family life, and romantic attachments of three 35-year-old virgins living in the city.

It’ll show their different paths of growth into maturity as their relationships with the people around them begin to deepen and change. Brought to us by Writer Lee Sun-hye, who co-wrote the popular Answer Me series, the drama will explore key themes such as the meaning of family, the duties of a daughter, and the support of close-knit neighbors. From these early descriptions, No Sex and the City seems to be about the issues of being a 21st-century woman that were present in the I Need Romance series, with the human touch that always pervaded the Answer Me series.

After watching Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-ju earlier this year, I can’t wait to squeal over another awesome female friendship trio. So I’m eagerly looking forward to No Sex and the City, especially if Han Ye-seul joins as one of the three self-sufficient strong women in the main cast. I think Han Ye-seul’s sexy image fits more with a character who is a haughty heiress (Fantasy Couple) or successful career woman (Miss Gold Digger) than the country bumpkin/innocent heroine types that she’s played recently. In addition, for me, her last two projects Madam Antoine and Birth of a Beauty didn’t use her comedic talents to their fullest extent, so I’m hoping her next drama will.

No Sex and the City will follow The King Loves, which is the sageuk scheduled after currently airing Monday-Tuesday drama Lookout, putting its premiere in September.

It seems like Ms. Han gained a little bit of weight and it sits wonderful to her. Her face seems fuller. Please girls, there is a thing as too thin.

Sorry for having offended you. I didn't mean that way.

Since we are possibly coming from different sides of a problem, then I will disclose some of my life's experience:

My cousin is still a model. She is very thin but thankfully she has a wonderful metabolism, so she can eat a lot. On the other hand, some of her colleagues did not. Several years ago, sometimes I went with her to the runways and saw these models lightheaded. I learned very quickly to have at hand some vitamin C candies and to prepare cucumber sandwiches to at least give them something to make them feel better.

Basically that is a long story made short. Since you answered my post in a polite but very sharp way, I would like to apologize again, and if you feel so, to ask your story since it obviously affected you.

It affects me because for some reason, men think the only way a woman can be considered beautiful is when the beauty is approved by them. A woman can be beautiful whichever way she decides whether it's being "too thin" or being "too fat". Yes, being healthy is important but we're not going to "take it from a man" because it's not a man's place to dictate what is beautiful.

We totally agree on that. It is wise to hear your beloved ones sometimes, but you always should be your own measurement stick.

On the other hand, there is always the danger (especially when you are young) to feel you should look this way or that way. Remember this is an open forum and there are people from all ages, so it is responsible to remember the young Beanies out there that no man (or woman) should ask her/him to attain an extreme ideal, far removed from health.

On the other hand, if all this ruckus is because a MAN said this, and if you would have said "Yes, girl!!!" if I represented myself as another woman, then you are dividing humanity in two.

Men and women should try to get along. We are complementary.

And don't take this from a man but from a fellow human being ;) .

See that's where you're wrong assuming you know how I would have reacted. If a woman had said "ladies, there's such a thing as too thin" I would have called her out for bodyshaming. But, by all means assume stuff about someone you don't know.

I don't know what is it about HYS that makes me like watching her characters. She's not a great actress, and her characters aren't overly likable. But somehow, I enjoy them. ?_?

There are som many other shows I think.. But I only watched these four.

Me three!!!. I loved her in the Gumiho Drama Forbidden Love in 2004... her acting was the best from a horrible drama. Loved her again in Couple or Trouble (2006), but I felt she was not as good in Madame Antoine and Birth of a Beauty.
