Lee Jung-jae, Lee Beom-soo, Liam Neeson
- Get ready for an onslaught of hype about the film Incheon Landing Operation, formerly titled MacArthur, which has signed Liam Neeson (Taken) as the famed General MacArthur. Lee Jung-jae is still considering a role as a navy lieutenant, and now reports are out that Lee Beom-soo (Last, Triangle) has met with director Lee Jae-han (Into the Gunfire) and is positively mulling over an offer to play an elite North Korean officer with ties to the Soviet Union. The movie will focus on September 15, 1950, the day when MacArthur strategically invaded Incheon and turned the tide of the Korean War, and its target premiere date is June 25, 2016 (625 is a symbolic day marking the start of the war between the North and the South). - Song Yoon-ah (Assembly) might be returning to the silver screen: She’s being courted for the title role in My Name is Jang-mi, but hasn’t confirmed yet. The first feature-length effort from director Jo Seok-hyun will begin filming before the end of the year. [MBN]
- Dazzling Temptation has cast Cha Ye-ryun (She’s So Lovable) as the second lead, which reunites her with writer Sohn Young-mok — she also played the second lead in his last drama, Gold Rainbow. Her character is a “woman who is like a rose with poisonous thorns.” (Ha, even the character descriptions are melodramatic.) She is beautiful like her mother and savvy like her politician father, but she’s also frighteningly tenacious and quick to make cold-blooded decisions. About a woman who lives an unlucky life and the woman who envies her (with a bit of revenge thrown in), Dazzling Temptation begins filming in the next couple of weeks and will start with some meaty backstory first. The melodrama will air on Mondays and Tuesdays on MBC in October. [Joongang]
- Alice of girl group Hello Venus will guest appear as a bitchy bandmate to Dasom (of girl group Sistar) in Strange Daughter-in-Law, KBS’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama. Her cameo will be limited to the first episode, but at least we’ll get to see the two collaborate on a song (they’ll perform together as members of the fictional group Ruby). Alice will play a frenemy who goads Dasom into participating in a faux-reality show about what it’s like to be a daughter-in-law, which eventually leads to Dasom becoming Go Du-shim’s initially fake, then real, daughter-in-law . Strange Daughter-in-Law premieres on August 17. [Star News]
- Two My Heart Twinkle Twinkle castmates are reuniting in the cable drama You Will Love Me, which will run for 16 episodes on Drama H. Oh Chang-seok is a graphic designer for mobile games, who is skilled at his job and earns recognition from the company, but is a nobody among his coworkers. A fashion terrorist who isn’t very good at dating, he’s forced on a blind date and ends up falling in love with the woman at first sight, but she rejects him. He’ll attempt to get his revenge by enlisting a social network Casanova who is able to woo any woman online, but little does he know that the Casanova is none other than Lee Tae-im, a would-be writer who’s become an online Romeo by accident. She’ll take Oh on as a protege, but will panic when her identity threatens to be exposed. [Dong A]

It does! I'm unfamiliar with the leads and with pretty much everything else about it, but the plot description is enough to make me want to check it out. I love that the girl will be the one giving dating advice in this because it seems like so often it's the guy doing that.

I am pretty sure the last news is mentioned because it involves Lee Taeim, who was in the controversy with Yewon.
I am glad to see her back on track and have a nother chance in the industry after the hiatus.

Lee Bum Soo in a American movie? Sold.
I'm glad Cha Ye Ryun is back with Golden Rainbow's writer. Even if I agree with most people that her acting isn't that good, I thought she did her best acting in Golden Rainbow. She did better than the female lead Uee in that drama and no one else could of played Kim Chun Won as good as she did and she was even able to make herself similar to her teenage counterpart. While I had such a hard time believing Uee was Kim Yoo Jung's adult version which made Uee replaceable for the lead role. Now we just need Jo Min Ki back for the villain role.
Excited to see Alice on screen. She's super pretty and talented, more than Dasom. It's just too bad she only appears in the first episode.
Glad to see Lee Tae I'm back to acting after what happened between her and Yewon. She was misunderstood and now she's finally back and ready.

No, it's actually the other way around. The Korean director was able to cast Liam Neesan to star in his Korean movie because they needed a white actor to play the role.
That's pretty awesome!

Helps that this is Hallyu and not Hollywood - so they aren't going to "whiteface" a white character.

Korean. I heard the majority of the language spoken will be Korean too, but I hope they don't do it a la Sense8 where everyone speaks just one language. It'd be nice if we get English from people who speak English and Korean from the Korean actors/actresses.

That last one sounds pretty interesting. I'll admit that was rolling my eyes during the first half of the description--anyone familiar with the community of "pick-up artists" probably was, too. (For those unfamiliar: just a bunch of unrepentant misogynists with faux-scientific ideas about dating and women.)
But the fact that this pick-up artist is a woman (and the female lead) makes me more optimistic. And how does one "accidentally" become an SNS Casanova? I'm definitely intrigued.
Good for Lee Tae-rim for getting back into the game after her hiatus.

one would have to laugh if Strange Daughter-in-Law comes in with better viewer rating than I Remember You, either that or cry :-(

Go go gooooo Lee Beom-soo. Ypu have always been awesome, and you are the most deserving specimen on Earth to land on good lead roles. "Good Lead Roles" should be equal to the word "Lee Beom Soo." You are so incredibly talented. Aish I love this actor so much. Might not be my fav actor, but darn it he is so deserving of every good thing. (Ok will I now rewatch the greats Giant and SBongDalHee now? Hehehe.) (I kinda like Lee Beom-soo more than Lee Jung-jae yeah)

I'd put Han Suk-kyu up there as well.
In fact, those 2 did a film together ("Forbidden Quest") and there was almost too much great acting (didn't particularly care for the female lead, tho).
Great film, albeit a bit on the risque-side.
