Kim Ji-won cameos as Kim Bum’s girlfriend for Hidden Identity

It’s only a guest appearance, but I won’t say no to seeing Kim Ji-won (Gap-dong, Heirs) putting in some screentime for tvN’s upcoming crime drama Hidden Identity, about a special investigative unit of undercover police officers. Better yet, she’ll be playing Kim Bum’s girlfriend, albeit only temporarily.

Her character is also the younger sister to another character, played by Kim Tae-hoon (whom you may remember playing a sleazy, villainous teacher in Angry Mom). She’s described as having a soft, innocent appeal, though she’s also the woman who “creates a decisive opportunity that transforms Kim Bum’s detective character into a cold-blooded human weapon.”

Um… she doesn’t die, does she? It’s gotta be that or vicious betrayal, and in that case I’m not sure which is better—being evil, or being dead? Maybe I’m missing an obvious Door Number 3, which would be nice for all their sakes…

In any case, Kim Ji-won be busy with a drama series of her own after her Hidden Identity stint is over, since she’s got a role in KBS’s big buzz project Descended From the Sun, set to air later this year. That drama features doctors working in overseas war zones and stars Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-gyo, and reunites her with Heirs scriptwriter Kim Eun-sook.

Hidden Identity premieres on June 16 on tvN. It’s a little strange to launch a show on a Tuesday, but the station will air Episodes 1 and 2 back-to-back that night, after which the show will resume the standard Monday-Tuesday broadcast schedule.

I feel like Kim Ji-won is going to become Yoon Se-ah with Kim Eun-sook. Se-ah was in about 3 of Kim Eun-sook's dramas.

theyre gonna kill her. its obvious. but i hope there will be enough cute scenes between kim bum n jiwon then in the end, they have to call her again because we love her and we want her appear more :D

Since it's only a cameo and she is the pivotal factoring changing the lead character then I would guess she dies. If it was a betrayal they would keep bringing her back as tension but if she's dead she's only needed in the begining to set the scene.

I believe it has been mentioned that she's gonna die and I saw a screencap of Kim Bum grieving over what looked like her dead body. There's also a scene shown in the trailer where he visited a cemetery and her photo was flashed.

I really hope Descendants of the Sun is her last stop before moving to leading-lady status, but I won't say no to a little Kim Bum+Kim Ji-won along the way :)

I can see her being either the angelically good+ ultimately dead gf, or the betrayer - she has the range to play both very convincingly.

So if her character is the sister of Kim Tae Hoon and will be dead. Does it mean Kim Tae Hoon will be a good guy in this drama. I need him to be a good guy for once. Although maybe he in 'My Love Eundong' drama now can be a good father.

Ohh that's one pretty couple. I was already planning on watching this drama since I love korean thriller dramas, but this spikes my interest even more.
