Dramabeans at KCON 2013!

Heads up for all of you in the LA area (or who are willing to travel to the LA area in the name of K-pop, which we fully endorse as a worthy endeavor): Dramabeans will be speaking at a panel about dramas at KCON 2013!

KCON, in a nutshell, is a large-scale convention and concert dedicated to “all things Hallyu,” now in its second year (apparently 10,000 fans showed up last year). It will be held this year on August 24-25 (Saturday & Sunday) and features panels and workshops planned over both days, capped off with a concert Sunday night. The lineup as it currently stands is: G-Dragon, 2AM, EXO, f(x), Teen Top, and DJ Koo.

The drama panel girlfriday and I will be at will be held on Saturday morning (11:30 AM) and is hosted by your friendly neighborhood drama-crack-provider Viki. (Thanks, Viki!) And wouldn’t ya know, Viki is currently hosting a ticket giveaway, so enter over there to win free admission.

Or, buy your own tickets at Ticketmaster. Note that you buy one ticket that’s listed for the Sunday concert, but it’ll get you in to both convention and concert, Saturday and Sunday.

This is daebak news! Perhaps I can make a quick trip and combine seeing you with stalking Lee Min Ho/Heirs filming. Two birds with one stone!

Two questions: 1) Will a European American receive odd looks for attending the convention panel and 2) will you be speaking from behind a mask with your screen names, or will we actually be able to see and hear the real you :)?

I was joking about the stalking. I'd be excited if I happened upon them, but at 33 I am a leeetle too old and mature to comfortably engage in LMH stalking. I would like to see the panel, though, and I'm not above looking at pics and fan accounts if *other* people do the stalking, LOL.

I'm sure you ladies will be a huge success! I personally could listen to you talk about such mundane topics as paint chips and soil acidity for hours. You make everything funny and interesting.

even though I do watch k-dramas I never was a Hallyu fan and in all the 10 or so years I've only like 2 k-pop acts , now it's only one and their not that active anymore . I don't think I would go to this even if it was next door to my house .

Convention ends at 6 on Saturday (with
Kpop's Night Out party until 8:30), and concert ends on 9:30 on Sunday (last year it was very much on time, I think bc it's broadcast live) so unless you live really far away, I think there should be some form of public transport still open. The metro has a stop right at the convention site:-)
