Prepare for toilet humor in Cha Tae-hyun’s new comedy

The poster is out for Cha Tae-hyun‘s (Speed Scandal) new supernatural comedy, Hello Ghost, and it features him in quite the precarious position, sitting on the toilet while the ghosts that haunt him look on. It’s a combination of strange, disturbing, and funny, which is pretty much what the tone of the movie sounds like.
Consider for instance the premise, where Cha Tae-hyun plays a man who’s so lonely and depressed that he keeps attempting suicide. He’s regularly haunted by four ghosts, who pop up to stop him from doing the deed, and then begin to interfere in his life. There’s potential for some great dark humor if done right, a la Harold and Maude.
There’s a crybaby ghost (Jang Young-nam, Harmony), the nosy ghost (Go Chang-seok, Rough Cut), the pervy ghost (Lee Moon-soo, Good Morning President), and the themepark-loving child ghost (Chun Bo-geun, Gloria, Wish Upon a Star), who round out the cast and put Cha’s character through the wringer. I suppose if there’s anyone to tell you that being dead’s not so cool, it’s a bunch of ghosts.
Expectations are high for Speed Scandal‘s star to repeat the mega-box-office numbers from his 2008 hit, which sold over 8 million tickets during its theatrical run. That was lightning in a bottle, I think, but this one looks like it’ll be good family fare for the holidays. And Cha is definitely a draw, and the only reason I’d see this movie.
Hello Ghost will premiere for the Christmas season, on December 23.

Btw,JB how about if u make the drama ending rating..as u know the korean drama series usually very strong in their story but so weak and sometimes dissapointed at the ending..

Btw JB and GF,how about both of u makes the rating 4 the ending of korean drama..
As we know,sometimes the story was so strong,but the ending is weak and dissapointed..

when i think abt being haunted, i always wonder if ghosts will have enough decency to not follow me into the bathroom while i do number two or showering- when i am most vulnerable! there should be some sort of line ghosts shouldn't cross!
this movie confirms one of my worst fears!

What an awesome cast~! CTH's one of my all-time favorite actors--he's got so much charm. Totally lovable.
And Jang Young-nam, too?! She's also incredibly magnetic. She can do quirky, uptight, creepy, etc.
And "Parang" from "Wish Upon a Star"!?

How funny, this will open for Christmas! I can't stop but cross reference CTH as Scrooge sitting on the John while Christmas spirits visit him. Say what? Oh well, another laugh factory to add into the holiday festivities is always nice.
