Omnibus film Acoustic showcases young talent

Shin Se-kyung, 2AM’s Im Seulong, Baek Jin-hee, and two members of CN Blue are starring in a three-part omnibus film about youth, wandering, passion and music, called Acoustic.

Directed by Yoo Sang-hun, the film will be divided into three parts: Part 1 stars Shin Se-kyung, Part 2 stars CN Blue’s Lee Jong-hyun and Kang Min-hyuk, and Part 3 stars Im Seulong and Baek Jin-hee.

It looks like Shin Se-kyung is the big name star, cast to drum up interest in the indie film, but the focus may be more on Part 3’s Im Seulong and Baek Jin-hee, as theirs is the love story. Baek is gaining a lot of traction in supporting roles, with projects like The Naked Kitchen, Loving You a Thousand Times, and the drama special Secret Garden under her belt. This year she’ll be in two other films, Hoya and Festival, both currently in production.

Shin Se-kyung is at work on her big film Blue Salt with Song Kang-ho and Chun Jung-myung, a thriller due out later this year. Im Seulong played a supporting role in Personal Taste, and this will be the acting debut for CN Blue’s Lee Jong-hyun and Kang Min-hyuk.

Omnibus films are a great breeding ground for new talent, rising stars, and especially great for crossover singers who are pretty green when it comes to acting. The short-film compilation feel of it will probably help to counterbalance it too, if any of the stories start to lag. With the right soundtrack and a loose, indie sensibility, this could become a film to look out for.

Acoustic is currently in principle photography, and is aiming for an October release at the Busan International Film Festival.

Yayness!!! I love CNBlue, and I'm excited to see that Jonghyun and Minhyuk are in this as opposed to Yonghwa. I mean, he's awesome but the others deserve to shine too. I hope Jonghyun sings - I would watch the whole movie to see just that. I also liked Seulong in PT, despite him overacting a bit, so that's another thing to look forward too. Fingers crossed that the soundtrack is awesome.

I totally agree with your statement...I CNBlue but Yonghwa always grabs all the attention and poor Jonghyun, Minhyuk and Jungshin don't get much if any recognition! Sometimes I see Yonghwa purposefully cut Jonghyun down or out of speaking or in displaying his songwriting efforts. I love the songs Jonghyun composes and writes, they are filled with more depth and make better sense lyrically! Jungshin and Minhyuk can rap, I saw clip on youtube of then on SSTP with Dongshin and they were so good without Yonghwa, each member shined in their own little star and together the three twinkled bright. I love Yonghwa but he needs to tone in down a bit and let his members shine too!
I miss the closer friendship that Yonghwa and Jonghyun used to show, now they seem sorta distant, since Lee Jonghyun became apart of the Kyu-line, but at the same time I am glad he is apart because at least kyuhyun and SHINee's Jonghyun offer him the support he needs if he isn't given it by his hyung....yonghwa.
Minhyuk and Jungshin are becoming so manly in front of our own eyes, even Yonghwa and Jonghyun all of them are sporting more muscles...omo **faint** especially Jonghyun photo for the FNC mag. I want to be a burning soul because Jonghyun has become my new bias whereas Yonghwa used to be. Oh yeah, I enjoy Minhyuk's acting ....he is the CNBLUE, then Jungshin and Jonghyun...I want to see him in a larger part so we can see his true abilities...hopefully in a action drama like his wish.

Shin Se-Kyung looks awesome <3 She's like one of the young actresses like Kim So-Eun that I believe deserve more attention and dramas x)
... and of course it doesn't kill to have hot guys filming with her :D
