Song Seung-heon picks an awkward “ideal woman”
by javabeans
Asking stars for their ideal boyfriend or girlfriend types is standard practice in the industry — entire variety shows have practically been sustained on the concept — so I don’t take those statements seriously. On the other hand, some answers MAY not be the most advisable, as Song Seung-heon explained on KBS’s July 3rd episode of Entertainment Weekly, after he named Han Ga-in (currently acting in Bad Guy) as his pick.
Reason being: she’s married to Yeon Jung-hoon, the actor who played Song’s beloved younger brother in last year’s East of Eden. Song had made the statement on a KBS variety program, Sweet Night, which aired on the 1st. Apparently, after he’d made the statement, he’d gotten a call from Yeon. Song said, “I thought Yeon Jung-hoon would be happy, but judging from his reaction I’d made a mistake.” (Maybe next time he’ll pick someone more “appropriate” as his supposed ideal — a co-star, perhaps, or an otherwise single lady who could benefit from the namecheck?)
Meanwhile, Song Seung-heon has a busy year: he’s got a noir movie, the remake of A Better Tomorrow (co-starring Kim Kang-woo, Joo Jin-mo, and Jo Han-seon) as well as a rom-com drama My Princess (with Kim Tae-hee).

Oh brother (hah, lame reference intended)....
I mean, surely YJH realized these answers mean nothing, considering that he's an actor himself?
Then again, that would mean that SSH would have known the intention behind the question and answered like he was supposed to. xD
Really, these questions are kind of pointless....

SSH just needs to quiet the press w/ a wife and kids. The audience will forget everything else by tomorrow... perhaps. I sure will. ^ , ^

Oh that SSH, such a tease!
Bad timing though, I heard Mr Han Ga-in's already uneasy enough about Kim Nam-gil and Jae-wook without adding a third contender to the list.

SSH is my favorite real life 'bad boy': if he can mess it up, he's bound to sooner or later. This made me laugh and laugh, and it points to exactly why I love him, flaws and all.
And those questions make me cringe, but I thought that my be my Texan sensibilities ...

That was funny...not least because I don't really see her as a perfect woman - she grates on my nerves with her acting! She's a pretty girl but she cannot act. It's a shame being paired with better male counterparts has done very little for her as a thespian. :( I really wanted to like her in Bad Guy but sadly, she annoyed for the most part.
SSH in a remake of ABT? That is cool. He will do well in one of the darker roles. :)

It was all a joke in good humor. The Entertainment Weekly interview (where this 'news' was revealed), SSH was describing it in a joking matter, meaning that YJH was not that upset. The interviewer was teasing SSH about marriage since JHS and KKW has already tied the knot.

With Kim Tae Hee?
Why am I not interested. She wasn't substantial enough in IRIS but more so than Lee Dae Hee in CHUNO, that's one thing for sure! But Kim Tae Hee had a dissappointing chemistry in IRIS with Lee Byung Hun and wished that he ended up with Kim So Yeon (Sun Hwa) instead!
Oh well.
Song Seung Hun is hot though!

lighten up people!
of course he was joking and they were all just kidding around. Yeon Jung-hoon seems to me like a pretty easy-going guy himself
just like maybe SSH actually prefers guys, and everyone else (but us) know it. :P
everything can be a smokescreen in showbiz. thanks JB, for the laugh.

SSH has been consistently saying HGI is her ideal-type woman.. He was in this show with something called Ideal-type Olympic and he ended up picking HGI as the winner, of course. I remember thinking, wow, he must really like her.. it was kinda cute though. I'm pretty sure they were just joking around..

Someone like her, not her personally what the big deal. I was the last one to get married out of my 5 close friends and I chose my husband base on some characteristics my Friend's husband had.

Yeon should accept SSH's choice as a compliment. Hmm there might be some truth behind the joke! Its also safe for SSH to mention a friend's wife than a single woman with expectation...
Kim Tae Hee & SSH...can't wait to see them as a love team!

Avoiding an answer whom is he dating now instead it is safer to mention someone wife for cover-up, questioner not witty enough to put it in another way, could not probe further, sick of the same old question - ideal type wife !. Why can't they ask staright forward question when are you getting married and who are you dating now?.

eh .. he'll also be in the remake of A Better Tomorrow? i hope he's not one of the lead actors cos in my opinion, he's not a good actor. i love the other three actors though. if SSH's role is not that significant, i might be able to enjoy the movie then.

He may have picked a friend's wife because it is more un-probable. If he had named a single woman, the media and netizens will go into overdrive and send people into a frenzy quicker than you can say
" please get that knot in your undies untied "
This man is savvy and knows how to avoid scandals

I think SSH meant it as a joke and playiny it safe. The lady should be flattered. Imagine being married and still admired by a handsome actor! I am married and if SSH would think of me as his ideal type, I would jump with joy LOL! We should all laugh about this but on second thought I am not too sure about the korean culture, I think with the way I see it in their tv dramas they are very conservative. Yeon should be flattered and accept it as a compliment.

I thinking that Koreans are expected to marry for whatever reason. I sincerely, hope no one marrys, unless they are in love. A lifetime can seem like a millineum, if the marriage is bad. Happy couples do things together and grow together. Unhappy couples grow further and further apart, to the point, it does not matter, if you are alive or dead. It damages your very being. In this country, USA, we can drift from culture to culture, if no one is available to marry in your own. It makes it easier. People had to e extremely tolerant of each other but it has worked better than being forced to marry your own. I am Jewish and was forced to marry a Jew but my ex and I did not force my daughter because our marriage crumbled. She married a Catholic man. I was also interested in marring a Catholic guy and probably should have. Marriage is serious business. It is frightening to hear someone say, "if I get this, I'll be happy, so hopefully, we will click." I hate to say this but unless you live with someone, you do not know them. If you do not click when your dating, you will definately not later. People are their politest, when they are dating. After marriage the cards are laid on the table and things don't look as pretty, anymore. Bad marriage wears you down, wears the children down and the negativity, is pretty bad. If either party has abilities, which many are not aware of, it can create a poltergeist. Not a good thing. Negativity in an atmosphere is really bad. Do yourself a huge favor and don't do it, unless your in love. Work together as husband and wife in your old age.
