Lee Seon-kyun with Hwang Woo-seul-hye in Drama Special
by javabeans
Mr. Voice aka Chep aka Lee Seon-kyun (Pasta) is pairing with Hwang Woo-seul-hye (Speed Scandal) in one of the early episodes of KBS’s Drama Special, which is a new anthology series of standalone drama episodes. The format is based on the former Drama City and Best Theater series, which were discontinued a few years ago and featured up-and-coming PDs, writers, and actors.
The first installment in the new Drama Special is called Red Candy and stars Park Shi-yeon (Coffee House) and is written by famed scriptwriter Noh Hee-kyung (Goodbye Solo). Lee and Hwang’s segment is titled Our Slightly Risque Relationship [조금 야한 우리 연애], wherein Lee plays a broadcast station PD who falls in love with a reporter. Directing the episode is Love & Marriage‘s Kim Hyung-seok; writing is Park Eun-young, about whom I can find little info available.
Drama Special premieres this Friday with the Red Candy episode; Our Slightly Risque Relationship will be the fourth installment.

cool beans. 8) so, hwang wang-seul-hye. i haven't seen four syllable names past dbsk members, lol. is it uncommon-ish like two syllable names? or is it a stage name thing?

It's her stage name. Her real name is Hwang Jin-hee, and her mother made up the stage name. Apparently it is comes from the meaning "우주 속의 지혜롭고 명예로운 사람이 되라," or "become a person blessed with wisdom and honor from the universe," loosely.
Four-syllable names aren't common but I think they've been getting slightly more popular as a recent trend. But the DBSK names don't really count as four-syllable names, I don't think. That's just adding a nickname to their real names, isn't it?

I would LOVE to see Choi Hee-ra take up a teletheatre project or two, she's the n00b writer behind OB-GYN, she blew me away with her intricately woven stories, insight, knowledge and then there was her snark, LOL sense of humour, heartwarming style of weepy melo and overall sheer class.
I'm just dyyying for her next project.
OK, I went overboard with my totally unrelated testimonial. But all the same; Choi Hee-ra for teletheatre.
P.S... Chep! xD

ahhhh. cool beans. i really find it hard to imagine someone saying a four syllable name. maybe because i'm so used to the way they use names in dramas. heh you're right about dbsk, but it was the only time i'd heard a four syllable name.

Did I read once somewhere that having three syllables for the first name is supposedly something insulting? Or something about in the past, so and so would have three syllables and their rank/position/status was lower? Am I spouting nonsense? I faintly remember reading something like that.....
I apologize for my ignorance, in case I am (and I probably am) being an idiot

@xiahkixiri, the only other four-syllable names I'm aware of are the rare instances where the person has a two-syllable family name. "Seon Woo" and "Dok Go" come to mind.

Glad that they are bringing this back as I really enjoyed Drama City.
Forget the name, but I liked the episode where three people (Wannabe actress, crazy guy, and someone else) are trapped in a tunnel caused by some timewarp and try.
Few more I've enjoyed, but forget their episode names. *sigh* :(
Will be checking this one out though!

As sallynally said, those with two-syllable last names (Hwangbo, Sunwoo) often have four-syllable full names, but the naming convention is traditional in those cases, since the first names are still two-syllable. (Or sometimes single-syllable. For instance, Sunwoo Sun, or Sunwoo Wan from Capital Scandal.)
The three-syllable first names are something different, and are a newer trend. Han Ye-seul's birth name is one of them (and I actually think it's quite pretty, and would have been nice for her to keep) as Kim Ye-seul-i.
Another four-syllable name is Jang Mi-in-ae, who played Jang Min-ae (a simplification of her name) in Soulmate.

I'm glad Mr. Voice is back in a drama. It will be slightly missed not being able to call out "chep" every once in a while, when this drama special airs. He needs to move on and leave his chef hat hanging in sound stage goldfish. Looking forward to watch his new character.
@ 15 Linwe
I was in withdrawal watching Penthouse Elephant. I was like a deer in front of beaming car headlights, 'cos it struck me that dark film imitates Jang JaYeon's real life in many degrees. I can feel she was working hard to convey her life story. I really hope Jang JaYeon R.I.P.
