Kim Yuna’s Festa On Ice fitting in Elle
by javabeans
Olympic gold medalist Kim Yuna is currently featured in ELLE atZINE, the fashion magazine’s website. The pictures show the figure skating champion at a fitting with fashion designer Lee Sang-bong, whom she’d sought out in preparation for her ice show last month, Festa On Ice.
Mostly I’m posting because I love that dress. I want that dress. Okay, maybe without the sparkly boobs, but it’s such a witty take on its inspiration, namely an old-fashioned scroll, which also happens to look pretty on its own merits.
Garments used in the show included a hangul print T-shirt (worn by other skaters as well as Yuna), a dress with an attached cape, and the others shown here.

I feel you, I too like that tier piece best of all these.
One Q for JB, since you careless for the sparkly boobs then your boobs must be more well endowed than Yuna's. LOL! Right?

oh i LOVE the first dress!! love the ombre and the scroll idea.
and though i'm usually not a big fan of pink (especially bright magenta pink). i really adore the skirt on the lace-up sleeve dress. i don't know if she's twirling so it flares out or if it's just like that, but in that shot, the skirt is adorable.

The scroll motive seems to be Lee Sang Bong's trademark, I remember watching an old episode of Infinity Challenge with him and his show featured similar designs.
Nonetheless, me likes!

Now Kim Yuna can advance to do a Andre Kim runway show. She would look so lovely in one of his wedding gowns.

Nice site -- Kim Yuna is very special and the photos were great. She is an inspiration. I published a skating novel for kids called Maddie Takes the Ice and my author is an Ice Dancer who knows many of the top skaters. Figure skaters are really suburb athletes who perform under more pressure than most any other sport.

Hehe--gotta agree with chriskk.
What is up with the magenta frilled one, third down?
Looks like she's overgrown with sea anemones or tube worms!

I absolutely love the first dress. I think all or most things are beautiful when the traditional and modern are combined into one.
It's so pretty!!!

I usually find figure skating boring except when Yu-na, Yagudin and Plushenko are skating. It's just amazing to watch these three in action.
