UEE busy with golf practice for Birdie Buddy

In anticipation for her second drama project, popstarlet-turned-actress UEE is completely immersing herself in golf practice for Birdie Buddy, where she plays a tomboy from Gangwon-do (where the series will film) who rises to success as a gifted golfer.
This is UEE’s first leading role after she played a manipulative popstar in last year’s You’re Beautiful. With Seo Ji-hye dropping out, one more female lead is still to be cast. Producers explained, “The role will be filled not by a singer like UEE, but an actress,” and expect to make the official announcement soon.
I was more interested when Seo Ji-hye was cast but not so much now, particularly because Lee Yong-woo (so wooden in Style) is the male lead. I won’t write it off entirely, since Birdie Buddy is a manhwa adaptation and the director Yoon Sang-ho has had experience successfully adapting a manhwa to the drama format (Tamra the Island). But I’m not feeling a lot of excitement, either.
Birdie Buddy begins filming with the child actors at the end of March; the adult actors will begin filming in April. This production will film mostly prior to airing, minimizing the live-shoot practice, and doesn’t yet have a broadcast date.

I see potential.. I loved to hate her in You're beautiful, epecially as she seemed to be unafraid to show her mean side..
I think she can definitely play the lead but it is just me who will keep thinking of her as only "acting" nice after YB!!! =P

I play golf, and it takes a while for an amateur to get a decent looking swing - even longer for them to hit the ball a good distance instead of just having them roll on the ground. We're probably going to have a lot of shots in this drama where they video UEE taking a swing, but it's another person's ball flying in the air. :P
Well... welcome to golf UEE. Take care of your hands because you will have the customary blisters and calluses. :)

I really liked her in YB, so I'm actually somewhat interested to see what she can do as a lead.
Shame it's about golf, though. That's a sport I'm fundamentally not interested in. :(

she's good at playing evil in you're beautiful. it came out naturally that makes me think it's really her personality. so i think she needs to give all her effort to erase the mean image of her character in YB...

I also love her, I have a thing for those psycho-b*tchfaces (sorry JB), but a drama about golf just doesn't sound appealing. Also sorry to moira and any other golfers around. It may end up a pleasant surprise, but since JB also says the male lead is wooden, I don't fancy it's chances.

I agree. I'm going to have trouble believing she's really "nice" after all that fake angel stuff she was pulling in YB. Her change from good to evil and back to good was so quick that it's sort of stamped in my head.
I guess she must be happy to be originally be the second lead and now bumped to first. But she's gonna have to earn it by doing well.

I like UEE but I don't like how most Korean Singers and Actors think it's nice to have their eyes done. Making their eyes big. That's why sometimes her eyes look huge and the same with the sister who did Cinderella's sister (forgot her name). Her eyes are big too it's kind of creapy..
Well, anyways. I'm happy that she got a movie, a lead role. I was waiting for something like this. yay. She also plays a tomboy too.. I can't wait for it to come out.
