New KBS dramas post strong re-broadcast numbers
by javabeans
God of Study, Chuno
Both of KBS’s new dramas, God of Study and Chuno, had strong premiere ratings when they ran their first two episodes last week in their respective Monday-Tuesday and Wednesday-Thursday timeslots. They also both brought in rerun numbers of 10.3% when their episodes re-aired, and anytime a rerun attracts double-digit numbers, it’s notable.
The three-way Monday-Tuesday ratings battle is a lot closer than the Wednesday-Thursday one (Chuno is kicking butt with mid-20% ratings), but God of Study is carving out a solid fanbase. It has been picked up for rebroadcast on cable television as well; its episodes will be shown on tvN on Saturday afternoons.
KBS daily dramas typically perform well, and with top-rated weekend hit Three Brothers — and new show Reputable Family showing signs of a strong run — this makes it a very, very good season for KBS.

This could be KBS's strongest performing season in 5 years. They've has had an incredibly strong run with their Wed-Thursday lineup since My Fair Lady, and God of Study has currently out in front in the Mon-Tuesday lineup.

KBS is always faithful with its drama. I think it's best for quality dramas to be aired on KBS, because KBS never cut short a drama due to low ratings. That is why dramas like those of Noh Hee Kyung can be delivered in their full form to the interested audience.

KBS is having a good year! Not to mention their variety show, 1N2D, reached 40% two weeks in a row, peaking at 51%.
