Japan to air Chuno in April
by javabeans
KBS’s hit series Chuno has been scheduled for a Japanese broadcast, and will begin airing in April. The drama had built up strong buzz prior to its airing, and was sold to Japan and Thailand in December before its premiere had even been unveiled.
With its high ratings (it’s already hit 30% within its second week) and high praise for its visual quality, expectations for Chuno are climbing ever higher. It’s likely that as the series picks up steam, lead actors Jang Hyuk and Oh Ji-ho will join the ever-growing pantheon of actors given the title of “Hallyu star,” per their heightened international profiles. (This goes for Lee Da-hae too, of course, though she already enjoys popularity in China.)
Satellite channel Asia Dramatic TV will travel to the filming location next month to interview the cast and cover the production.

Yipee! Hooray Chuno!!!
I am so happy for LDH! This year is pretty much the exact opposite of her situation last year and I'm glad she's earning this success after that awful year she had!

wow can't wait for coverage by the Satellite Channel TV, and to see all the cast doing the promotion throughout asia-
CHUNO is totally different type of sageuk, can't believe it is soooo good-I thought just another good made drama, but after watching all 4 eps- just one word 'BRILLIANT'
my favourites- ending of ep2, when the reeds dancing with the music while both actors staring at each other, and the chasing part at the end of ep4..

Will Chuno be airing in China in the future? I really hope so because it's a huge market and I want these actors and actresses to do well across Asia.

I actually hate the hair in the show. It looks like a curly perm that hasn't been washed in . . ever. But I guess slave hunters were going for Legends of the Fall-era Brad Pitt at that time? ;)

Goes without saying. It doesn't cover the Three Kingdoms era, so the gov. shouldn't protest.

JB, thank you for sharing all the great images from Chuno. ::swoon:: My Friend the Mac ^^ has many new pics for its rotating screen saver, like the one above. Have there ever seen so many shirtless, long-haired men in one k-drama? IDTS. ::shallow ICOMYM comment::
It'll be Feb. before I can start watching Chuno on KBS World ~~ but I'm enjoying the wait. And yay! Yim Jae Bum on the OST.

Don't they have a tv channel in Japan that only airs korean dramas ?
I do wonder how popular these series are umong younger people because most the fans tend to be older women or that's what I've heard.

BTW, I hope Korea comes out of the Chuno Diet when this gets distributed in Japan. I don't care if it involves hunting down 13-year old kids while floating on a grass plain in slow motion and being rubbed in grime and pickle juice. Whatever it takes yo, especially if it comes with "workout" videos!!

It's not surprising to know that Japan would air this drama, given its popularity in Korea. We can expect that the actors would become more and more popular in Asia soon.

My be because people didn't wash their hair for the longest time back then!? You know, the longer you leave it, curlier it gets...
Anyway, I've already skyped my sis to record on her Blue ray player. I wonder there's gonna be voice over or not. I'd rather hear their own voices. I noticed most of the time, they do voice over which is a bit of turn off for me. Sub titles please. This is all just in case I can't make my files work as I'm downloading the ep1 right now... I need my kid at home!

Those are hair extensions, that's why it is not natural.
