Seo Woo is Cinderella to Moon Geun-young’s evil stepsister
by javabeans
Seo Woo, Moon Geun-young
Oh, interesting! Seo Woo has just been cast as the good, kind Cinderella character in KBS’s upcoming miniseries Cinderella Unni, or Cinderella’s Sister. This pits her against Moon Geun-young, who was recently cast as the titular stepsister.
Seo Woo is several years older than Moon, but takes on the younger role in the drama. Per the fairy tale, her pure and sweet Cinderella will be tormented by her older stepsister, which features Moon in her first villain’s role. Seo Woo’s casting comes on the heels of her casting announcement for The Housemaid with Jeon Do-yeon and adds another high-profile rivalry to her growing resumé. The drama is planned for a March premiere.

Indeed, interesting. Not who I had expected as the sweet and kind Cinderella (more sprite and spunky to me), but perhaps there will be additional twists to Cinderella's character as well as her evil-sister's. Still, it's a MGY work so I'll have to check it out.

This is GREAT!!
I adored both of them in their previous works and now they're coming together in a drama? COOL~~
I can totally picture Seo Woo in the goody goody Cinderella role. She was somewhat the nice and naive lil girl in Tamra Island.. so acting-wise, I think she'd have no problems at all.
Now the IMP thing is the guy.... maybe Lee Min Ho? Im Joo Hwan again? Or Jang Geun Seuk? OK, I think I just mentioned all the hottest guys last year..hahaha..

Is MGY's evil step-sister character truly evil or is she going to be one of those misunderstood evil characters that are actually quite human?
I can't help but see a parallel between this drama and Wicked, a book and later Broadway musical about two witches in Land of Oz, Elphaba and Glinda.

This is interesting!! I will keep an eye for the project.
Who is Prince Charming I wonder? And I think the show may have the "The wizard of Oz" flavours which I do not mind at all.
Moon Geun-young is so pretty. She's the best thing that comes out of Autumn tale (I only had the patience to watch her part when the series came out. The adult phase I did not care at all)

Haven't been this excited for a drama in a long time! Strangely, when I heard about this drama I expected the part of Cinderella to go to Seo Woo & I guess dreams do come true. Now the main question is who will be her prince charming!!

I hope Im Ju-Hwan will be Prince Charming especially since Seo Woo is Cinderella. I guess I could settle w/ Jang Geun Seuk but not Lee Min Ho, most definitely NOT Kim Bum either.
A light bulb just flashed - how about Gong Yoo??? If the writing team is solid for this drama, he could be a great potential candidate.

The first thing that came out of my mouth was JinSunMi's "Oh. Mai. Gawd."
How is this woman getting all these high profile roles!? Either way, I'm totally rooting for her to be the next top actress! She has so much potential.
At the same time, I want to root for MGY in this drama... but... but... BUT! This is Seo Woo? If she's gonna be cute and spunky, how can I NOT root for her?
Than again, they way they are doing the Cinderella story, Cinderella is planning revenge. That's already OOC of the original Cinderella, so I wonder how "innocent" the Cinderella of the drama will turn out to be.

So cute!
I nominate Jung Il-woo, Go Soo, or better yet, Hyun Bin for Prince Charming!! No celebrity makes me more gigglier than those three. Or perhaps Lee Byung-hun, but he's too old for this and doesn't really have the Prince Charming thing.
I haven't seen Seo Woo nor Moon Geun-young's works, but just judging by the articles and their facial expressions, I feel like Moon Geun-young would make a better Cinderella and Seo Woo a better evil stepsister because of her spunkiness. But it looks exciting nonetheless! And both actresses look like they'd be super nice in person.

Seo Woo is making it big. She's getting so much attention these days. I just watched her in Crush and Blush and had to say that she deserved it. Her acting is very natural and cute. I'm a little annoyed at her character in Tamra the Island, but she definitely brings into the screen her bubbly cute charm. Let's wish her best of luck!

In my opinion, some of these guys are too old and others too young (Lee Min-ho, Jang Geun-seok). And Lee Dong-wook's in the army now. I know a lot of people like seeing favorite pairs meeting up again, but I'm the opposite -- I want them to move on to other pairings -- so I have to veto Im Joo-hwan too.
Oh, I know!

I expect the male lead to be someone less known or less famous because both MGY and SW have the tendency to overpower the male partner somewhat.. BUT Chun Jung-myung's such a good idea.. he needs a come-back project too so this is perfect! I wonder how the writer's going to shape up the male lead's character..

It would depend on when this drama is airing since Lee Chun Hee is currently doing Smile, You---though he would be a great choice as well. Hmm, I want to see Jin Yi-han again too...though maybe not in this(is he doing his mandatory service?).
The casting really is making me super excited about this!

I LOVE the idea of Chun Jung-myung...but I also could get behind Jung Il-woo. I could easily see either of them with Seo Woo. And I could definitely see either one of them as a handsome prince! Jung Il-woo needs something juicy after being so underutilized in MFL.
I can't get behind Lee Min-ki for this (and not because he's MINE); I just don't see him matching well up with Seo Woo, or frankly as a handsome prince-type. He's too offbeat.
Lee Chun-hee? Maybe...I wouldn't be opposed to him either!

OH........MY........GOSH! I think that it's REALLY interesting to me!
Ooo! I agree with 5# -- ( Icarusfalls ) -- I can't wait to see Moon Geun-Young will be acting soooo SUPERB evil step-sister -- AND......I would ENJOY seeing Moon Geun-Young could be different when she act like that in this new project drama "Cinderella".........I love THIS! Other thing -- Seo Woo, I think, she will be fit to a main role of Cinderella, hmm!
Who is Prince Charming?
1) Jang Geun Seok (you're beautiful)
2) Lee Min Ho (boys before flowers)
3) Kim Beom (boys before flowers & dream)
4) Jeong Il-Woo (take care of my lady)
5) Hwan Hee (over the rainbow)
6) Lee Hong Ki (you're beautiful)
7) Oh Jong-Hyuk (Life is Good)
8) Park Jin-Woo (Painter of the Wind)
(sighs) Oh my, Oh my! What am I thinking so much? Lolz.
ONE THING --- I think this guy -- BAEK SEONG HYEON in ("Stairway to Heaven" ) drama --- HE will BECOME so handsome prince charming that -- I HOPE Baek Seong Hyeon should decide to choose THIS!!!! I think it's so --- FANTASTIC!
I HOPE SO!

Lol, it seems to me that the casting was backwards. Moon with her angelic face and composed figure seems more of the Cinderella type to me. And Seo who looks quiet glamorous in the picture above could make a wonderful stepsister. But I'm looking forward to this and hope that the actresses will convince me when playing their roles. :)

Chun Jung Myung is a great one. I just finished watching 'What's up, Fox?" and thoroughly enjoyed it. I wouldn't have given it a chance but it came highly recommended by you. "Chul soo!!!! I want to be your Noona and you can kiss me and feel my heart beat anytime." *sigh
I developed withdrawals from that drama and tried watching 'Fashion 70's.' Chun's character was not all that great compared to his Chul Soo character. It's like he lost the charisma or something was just lacking. I would like to see him make a comeback.

If you do see TOP in his Big Bang activities you'll find that the guy in real life is nothing like his Iris character. He's actually a very cute guy and funny too. In an interview he even confessed that: he hates it when people think he's scary looking. But TOP did make a pretty scary performance as Vick. It only shows what a beast this man can be. ^^

As much as I would love to see Chun Jung Myung soon, I think he should come back with something meatier. I just don't see the Prince Charming character having that much depth.
Same goes for Jung Il Woo...something meatier. Where's the beef?! :P
