Lee Da-hae’s sad wedding scene for Chuno
by javabeans
These stills were released from KBS’s upcoming sageuk-action drama Chuno (Slave Hunters) on the 16th, which feature the drama’s leading lady Lee Da-hae dressed in wedding garb wearing a sad expression on her face.
In the storyline, Lee Da-hae’s character Hye-won is caught in a love triangle between her two male co-stars, Jang Hyuk and Oh Ji-ho. Her love with Jang Hyuk’s character is hindered by the gap in their social standing; while dealing with her disappointment over that love, she meets Oh Ji-ho’s character and the two fall in love. These stills show her sadness at being pressured into an unwanted marriage in order to maintain her yangban (aristocratic) standing.
Chuno, which will premiere on January 6, 2010, is Lee Da-hae’s first role since the disappointment of East of Eden, which was supposed to be a high-profile vehicle for her but instead relegated her to minor supporting character status. She took a long hiatus after dropping that drama, and if pre-show buzz proves accurate, Chuno will be a much better setting for her to show off her talents at melodrama.
Here are a few more stills, featuring Jang Hyuk, Oh Ji-ho, and Kim Ji-suk:

Not really interested, but I'm glad for once the love triangle is not a he loves her-she loves him-he starts to like her. Finally we get a female lead who actually likes both male leads, but maybe at different levels at different point in time.

She will have no problem showing her melodrama acting talent. She proved in Heaven Fate and Green Rose. Whe she cried I cried with her also. As a fan, I really can't wait for this drama. Based on the first trailer showed a few weeks ago, so impressed with the cinematography and Jang Hyuk acting.

JB, I have to say, you must be able to read my mind! I was just thinking tonight (while in the shower) that I haven't heard much about Chuno lately let alone seeing still shots of LDH in the drama. And WAAAHH-LAAAHH, here is it! Love that not only can you give me a fix of YAB here & there you can read my mind too! YOU ROCK!
I'm looking so forward to watching this drama! Solid, great-looking cast with interesting storyline! Can't wait till January! Hopefully it won't disappoint me!

janghyuk is looking GOOD!
and kim jisuk, LOL i'm not sure what to think about him. i remember him from one episode as hyojoo's first love in nonstop 5, didn't like him much there... saw a few episodes of him in old school khd's loveletter hehe. didn't like him much there either LOL.
oh jiho has the same dirty wack hair and clothes, and yet doesn't look as sexy as jang hyuk does..

Yay! I'm so excited about this drama! I definitely think that this might be the career altering drama for all three leads if it does well. I'm actually really excited to see Lee Jong-hyuk in this( interesting that both he and LDH are coming together again after Green Rose). It seems like next year is going to have some potentially great dramas along with this and SJS's Road No.1, the Lee Seon-kyun and Gong Hyo-jin starrer Pasta also looks interesting.
@mak
Thanks for the link. It's always interesting (and amusing) to read Mister X's commentary. Especially his beginning comments that referred to Iris (:

In that first pic of Kim Ji-suk, I thought it was Lee Da-hae masquerading as a guy...
I had to take a second glance AND confirm the name...
Looks like YBish plotlines have taken over my mind :-) Anyway, the drama looks interesting.

I'm so tired, so first, yawn........then Eeeeeek!! Thank you, JB, for putting Chuno on the radar on your blog (other than hjkomo and my ridiculous fawning in OT). Continues to look great, I'm sad they dressed up Da-hae like a sad doll. But I love the cast pictures where she is goofing around with Jang Hyuk and Oh Ji-ho. And I absolutely love a drama with 2 certifiable male leads that both can get the girl, it's completely riveting.

I wish Lee Dae Hae was not in a saguek series but rather a modern contemporay romantic love story. Sageuk series are not my cup of tea. However,
I will watch this series. Hope her next series is not a saguek.

I think Korea has what we call in my country A tall poppy syndrome, where those that stand out always get attacked or fawned over depending on the whim.
Anyway from the stills looks like one the girls can watch for hairy men showing muscles..lol.
