Song Chang-eui and Seo Ji-hye are husband and wife
by javabeans
This is a pairing I could get behind: Seo Ji-hye (I Love You) is teaming up with Song Chang-eui (Scale of Providence) as spouses in a new movie with the (working) title Tree that Sleeps Standing [서서 자는 나무]. Apparently the title speaks to the theme of a person’s desire to stay next to and support a loved one.
Song Chang-eui, taking his follow-up role to the drama series Cinderella Man, plays a warm-hearted, passionate firefighter. Having dealt with his father’s death at a young age and knowing the pain of losing a parent, he doesn’t want to subject his young daughter to the same kind of pain, yet his job requires that he put himself in risky situations, and that weighs on him as a burden. He finds refuge and hope in his wife and daughter, but one day things start to change.
Seo Ji-hye, known for her bright image, again plays an innocent, simple woman as Song Chang-eui’s wife. They meet when she finds herself caught in a revolving door, and he helps her to safety. However, after that incident, she has difficulty being in crowded places and suffers panic attacks. She is also dearly devoted to her husband, but begins to feel that he’s hiding something from her.
The film is described as a “heartbreaking love story” and will begin filming in September. (To be honest, I don’t love the description — melodramas, bah! — but I do really like both actors…)

ahh, they make beautiful couple!
when i first read the title, I thought they married for real.
Melodrama? heartbreaking love story? why can't they make it as heartwarming love story instead? life is depressing enough, isn't it?
( brown shoes just don't fit the suit...:( )

Seo Ji-hye looks as if.....SHE'S THE ONE.......who ended up
with those silvery-bronze shoes; the same ones that played
such an important part in "Boys Over Flowers." :- )

I think my mom would love this movie since she can relate to the wife (she also has anxiety/panic attacks, along with being a claustrophobic), and my father is sort of similar to the husband. I think my mother would really really love to watch this :D

i love Song Chang Eui ever since "Golden Bride"... so i will definitely look forward to this. but like #1 said, a heartwarming love story seems a bit better for these tough times. Seo Ji Hye looks so pretty, while SCE looks uncomfortable. lol.

Thanks for the news. I'm glad to hear Song Chang Eui will have a new movie coming out. I love him since Golden Bride. The girl looks very nice and suits him well.
BTW, heard that he will star in another musical called Gambler. Anyone know whether it is comfirmed and when is the show date? Thx

Aw, I hate to sound like a sucker for melodramas, but I think I'll like it.
I love the idea of it. Hopefully it'll be good, I really like Song Chang-Eui.
He played a great character in Golden Bride.
