Lee Junki gets lots of love from Thai fans
by javabeans
What a good year to be Lee Junki.
He headed a successful drama (Time of Dog and Wolf), won some awards, put out his latest film May 18 (aka Splendid Holiday), and is set to headline the anticipated upcoming Iljimae adaptation. He’s really skyrocketed to fame in the two years since his breakout role in the record-setting film King and the Clown — a role that almost went to Coffee Prince‘s most winning Prince Jin Harim, aka actor Kim Dong Wook.
Now he’s the first Hallyu star to have an official fan club in Thailand. The fan club officially opens on the 30th, and Lee Junki will participate at the opening ceremony, which occurs in downtown Bangkok.
Then, on December 3, he’ll visit the large northern city of Chiang Mai for the Christmas-lights ceremony, which is an annual event observed by the Thai royalty. (He’s also the first Hallyu star to be invited to this event.)
Then, on December 5, he will attend an event, also in Chiang Mai, celebrating King Bhumibol’s 80th birthday.
Wow, do they love him in Thailand or what?

Hey Sarah, I love your blog ^_^
I'm so happy for LJK, he's a great actor... speaking of official fanclubs, I think LDW has an official fanclub in Thailand, too (looks like the MG boys are pretty popular in Thailand) ^^

He deserves it so CONGRATS!!!
As for why he's so popular in Thaïland... It may be because the story of TBDAW was partly done over there ^^ He even had to speak a bit the language.
He's definitly my favorite Hallyu Star as he's not only got one hell of a pretty face but likes to take challenging roles ^^ I do like Hyun Bin a lot too but he has yet to impress me as much as Lee Jun Ki in terms of acting. And i'm eager to watch him in Iljimae, ^^ Sageuk dramas being my favorite genre, I'm just ecstatic to know he's gonna act in one ^^ Wish him the best of luck ^^

good for him! i wasn't really a fan at first 'coz he's too pretty for my taste even though i've watched most of his work. but in TODAW he blew me away with his acting and he looks more manly in this drama LOL! i now anticipate his upcoming projects.

rub-I don't see sherry's comment as a bash....plus she said that she just doesn't get the pretty boy thing.

OMG! Yesterday, I read this article and the other article about best dramas of the year and such! I watched the Time of Dog and Wolf, before I thought it was going to be a weird drama because the title wasn't attractive or something.. I learned my lesson, "don't judge a book by it's cover!". lol.
I finished watching it this morning! hahaha. Stayed up till 6 in the morning! I'm not even kidding. lol. I'm so bad, I didn't go to church....
The Time of Dog and Wolf is not that draggy. It's kind of like Bourne Ultimatum,,, because ... (for those who haven't watched this,,, it's awesome!)!!!!!!!
And the girl, from Sweet Spy, looks A HUNDRED times better in this drama and they mesh together!
He is sooo HOT! lol.
Thanks a lot!
